The night started off with Faces of Black, and their three merry dancers swinging some wild jigs up in front. Every time I see this band they are more impressive than the time before. They have a great attack, and manage to get their songs stuck in my head for days. My only complaint is that there was no playing of "Get yer bitch on!" And being called someone's "Old Lady" by the drummer! heh heh...

I was fortunate enough to get hold of a copy of the Faces of Black cd this night, and fuck am I impressed! It is a solid recording, and it really manages to capture the intensity of their sound. I would offer that you all do yourselves a little favour and go hunt down a copy of it.

After that, I began socializing in earnest, so I cannot comment on Kincaid ("Band of the Month") too much, other than to say they had their own brand of dancing antics, and seemed very frenetic on that tiny stage.

I caught some of The Gashleys set, and was interested to note they had a new guitar player to compliment the tasteful and catchy riff machine that is Kyle. Quit hogging all the guitar players! As always, their singer wore fancy pants.

All in all, it was a great night of r-o-c-k.

Logan's needs to get some Piper's in their establishment. Please. - Tue, 30 Mar 2004 1:34am

once again the cross town drink/drive/no cab money allowed me to miss what I hear was a good performance by F.O.B. - Tue, 30 Mar 2004 8:30am

Mike, you gotta get a ride down, man! Doesn't 2/3rds of the F.O.B. crew live in your neck of the woods? Carpooling!

And I got my ticket for that show in April! Thanks Mr. Black! Getting mentally ready now... - Tue, 30 Mar 2004 11:25am
