Never seen the gary oak room so packed! Awesome show, thanks to everone for coming out and supporting Youth Challenge International's volunteer programs (www.yci.org). I have some lost and found shit, so if you are missing something, describe it to me and you can come pick it up. Anyone know what happened to that guy that was passing out in the garden out back? - Sun, 7 Mar 2004 9:46am

This was a wicked show. Hoochy and Mad Hatters especially impressed me. Nice to see everyone coming out to support a charity also. Drunkeness at it's best. - Sun, 7 Mar 2004 10:30am

only two reviews? The place was full, probably over capacity.

pamplemousse: okay. When I watch bands that are just starting out, I give them a break. If I have somehting positive to say, I'll say it, I f i don't, I'll wait to commment after I see them again. No comment

missed the next band....drinking

mad hatters: Impressive. Didn't think the voacls came off that strong although this could have just been the fact that the P.A wasn't working that well, but! Good sound from the brass and fun covers. Ir eally liked the energy that this band gave off, everyone on stage was jumping like a motherfucker. Cool. Easily one of the, in not the highlights of the night.

Peoples War: I'm not a big fan of the music that they play so I'm not the best judge of their quality but here it goes. The talent of the band definatly shows. They play a tight, seemingly flawless set with strong intrumentals. On the negative side, the songs seemed to go on for a little too long, and the energy that could have been carried over from the mad hatters strong set was not. This band should have played earlier in the night, not beveause they lack talent, they just were too relaxed in between two high energy bands such as the Mad Hatters and The Hoochy Girls.

The Hoochy Girls: Good set was marred by technical difficulties. The most drunken set I've ever heard them play. This is a very talented band, enough said. Never fail to deliver steller sets full of energy and fun. - Sun, 7 Mar 2004 5:44pm

Jesus! Its a good thing the fire marshall didn't show up; Talk about full. I thought it was a pretty damn good show on all fronts. Never seen so many Highschool girls in one place; not even when I was in Highschool.

People's War were definitely the grandfathers of the whole room, but I guess someone has to be.

Andy, please apologize to the H.G. guitarist for me. If his guitar had been physically broken in some way, I would have certainly reconsidered loaning him my Strat. Except for a bit more tuning than normal, he seemed to make out fine with the strings I gave him, so....

Hopefully it managed to raise enough to send whoevers' going to YCI on their way.

Thanks again everyone. We'll be playing there again on the 21st. - Mon, 8 Mar 2004 9:05am

Andrew (the guitarist) was more than happy with the strings you had for him. It was actually probably my fault, he told me to bring my guitar as well just in case he broke some strings and I forgot. Anyways, it was a great show, tons of kids, I especially enjoyed people's war and am looking forward to that album coming out. - Mon, 8 Mar 2004 11:24am

Good times. Lots and lots of kids, no fighting, no vandalism, and best of all NO COPS. Controlled anarchy, you could say. We (P.W.) felt a little out of place smack in the middle of a bunch of ska bands but the crowd seemed to like it so good. Kudos to everyone for a very successful show. - Tue, 9 Mar 2004 9:29am
