Adrenaline Animal User Info... | Just got home from Logan's, Man that show kicked ass, great work boys, can't wait for the new (re-release) album - Sat, 21 Feb 2004 10:11pm
jay brown User Info... | Funny thing about that show last night, I was watching Leeroy play and something dawned on me. I have always supported Leeroy cause he is my friend and pretty much anyone that gets up on stage deserves my respect I figure. But I was listening to him play last night and I realized that he is a damn talented song writer and a good showman. I found it strange that he gets bad mouthed a lot on here and just in general, but most of it is from the punks and the metal heads, and for the most part neither of those scenes is usually too willing to acknowledge anything else as being any good. I guess when Leeroy stopped playing punk rock it became o.k. to hack him. But looking at who was on stage with him it was very easy to see that some of the best musicians this city has ever put out can see how talented he is and want to climb up on stage and be part of that with him. Ya anyhow, long story short I was totally impressed and had a really good time, props Leeroy. - Sun, 22 Feb 2004 7:36am
dagrimrippa User Info... | Don't you think that there's something wrong with talent as an excuse for lack of ideas? The reason I don't like Leeroy's music is because, while the band can play their instruments, he is writing songs that don't have any particular relevance for myself. Also, in advertising your band as this: "Fueled By Wine and cigarettes this former Staggers front man is back to grab you by the balls and make you fall in love with his music... With a promising live show and an attitude to back, be sure to grab front row seats" - you're eliminating any truths their can be to the music you write or to what message you're trying to get across with your audience; it's not describing a band, it's a fictional testament of what it's possibly like to "experience a band". - Sun, 22 Feb 2004 8:00am
jay brown User Info... | Nah your getting unecessarily deep there I think he's just having fun and playing with that whole 70's rocknroll image thing. I think it's funny personally and I'm betting thats exactly what he was going for there. Don't you think that there's something wrong with the idea that talent on instruments= songs with ideas. Isn't this just an excuse for lack of ideas? I have no idea what you were trying to say there with that it made absolutely no sense to me. - Sun, 22 Feb 2004 8:22am
eboner User Info... | jay - i totally agree. leeroy has not only got awsome stage presence but he writes and plays music that obviosly has meaning to him and he enjoys playing it. it sounds good and gets crowds going. it doesnt mean everyone has to liek it or relate to it but hes got talent and he does his thing... thats all that matters really. - Sun, 22 Feb 2004 9:09pm
Colin Sick User Info... | I hope he writes a song about the hotel room in toronto ! - Mon, 23 Feb 2004 6:11pm
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | Leeroy rules. I was in his first band with him, and I can tell you the kid's got talent. He's out there doing what feels right for him. He's a rock n roll joyride(at least that's what Wesley Willis(RIP)said). I just hope that when he's famous he remembers that it was my wife who named him Leeroy, and I who came up with Staggers... Not to mention that I've got a stack of Staggers T-shirts just waiting for Ebay! Rock on Lee! - Tue, 24 Feb 2004 3:13am
The One After Two User Info... | I like Leeroy's music, don't know the guy... I saw his show once and was impressed, he was very drunk, but I gather, thats the point. I think his record is the best Victoria disc I've heard yet...I am still new but I have a few... I also like Moneyshot's EP and Kincaide's MP3s. - Tue, 24 Feb 2004 5:16pm
