| rP User Info... | This show was a big deal in that the headliners were a new band featuring 3 guys from Abuse (and a ton of other bands) with a killer new guitarplayer from the 'burbs, doing their first show. They were competing with Opeth the same night, but those who prefer.. more.. came out to grind. The openers were Gordred who I believe are fairly new, pretty much thrash from what I could tell, female fronted and didn't seem to disappoint even this mostly grind hungry audience. TARD went on next and were full on blast beats and slamming riffs. True to form they offended and disgusted even though their stage show shtick was probably more restrained than it normally is. Don't get thrown off by the hype though, these guys are pretty proficient musicians. Its just a shame that they don't get more credit for that aspect of what they do. Crackwhore opened the show with a big, ominous/sirenous blast "WHAAAT DO YOU FEEED A PIG???.... CRACKWHOOOORE" before launching into a set that left no question as to why this new threat to everything pure and moral was gonna make everything else look like total safety in comparison. Absolute power and confidence with no hesitation in proclaiming (musically) that they're the new shit. Effortlessly rhythmic, structured, super fast, brutal, and technical with enough hard detours and riff variations to force you to be on alert. INCREDIBLY rhythmic, compared to most grind out there, I'd say. And we've seen the rest of them before, but this new guitarplayer seemed to capture a lot of attention. And on top of it they could afford to laugh and joke throughout. now if that ain't fuckin' scary... | Jason User Info... | Tard "proficient musicians"? bwahahaha. Crackwhore are a musicians wet dream. Mr. Nasty on bass is so solid it makes me sick. Drumming? a clinic. And the guitarist? 21 years old and crushes ANY local string-jizzer I've ever seen. Think your good? your not, you suck and need to go home and practice. (atleast thats how I felt after watching them). | SentencedtoBurn User Info... | Crackwhore...holy fuck, death/grind is really starting to grow on me. Connor is one the best metal vocalists I have ever heard/scene in my life, amateur, pro or otherwise. The dude can seriously do it all vocally-super lows, high pitch screams, inhales and rad stage presence to boot. Their drummer-rad. Super solid, rad technique, always in control, one of the best west coast metal drummers for sure. These guys will go places. Alright, Tard is the most fucking hilarious live show I've ever seen in my life. Tard's vocalist drop kicked their guitar player off of a 4 foot stage. Diapers and fake poo were involved. People in the audience were attacked by the diaper. I was laughing so hard that I couldn't pay attention to half of their set. - Thu, 29 Jan 2004 8:58pm | ||
