Chopper User Info... | LOL! Didn't realize Save on Foods arena was moved out to Sooke and renamed. Enjoy the 5-10 people that show up mr. wannabe rock star. - Wed, 19 Mar 2008 3:19pm
Jeff from The Perish User Info... | wow that didn't take long. we are just doing a gig man. Not canceling the Rock Theater Show planned for The SOFA. why don't you come actually see us play and THEN have lots of REAL criticism for us. - Wed, 19 Mar 2008 3:23pm
Jeff from The Perish User Info... | the facility holds 600. and once again, we can do whatever we want to have fun. Thanks for all the great people out there supporting us. We don't forget. See you all at the show ! - Wed, 19 Mar 2008 3:25pm
Chopper User Info... | a: better things to do than line the biggest joke in Victoria's musical history pockets. b: it's in sooke c: $10 LOL! I wouldn't pay $5 to see you clowns. Hell I wouldn't even waste my time if it was free. - Wed, 19 Mar 2008 3:27pm
Jeff from The Perish User Info... | your just scared we're gonna rock and then you wouldn't be able to spew crap with not evidence to back it. lets face it, your job is to sit behind a computer all day and CHOP people down for having fun and doing something productive. My job is to CHOP mean licks out of a guitar. we clearly live in different worlds, but I'm glad to see you working so hard at what you do. cheers bud ! - Wed, 19 Mar 2008 3:41pm

Aidan Logins User Info... | "b: it's in sooke" heey now, I've had GREAT shows in Sooke with 300 and 400 people showing up and paying and dancing. Downtown shows people hate to pay if they even show up and once they're inside they sit down or stand in the corner... most people anyways. But I've never heard The Perish so I won't comment on their musical ability either way. - Wed, 19 Mar 2008 4:40pm
Chopper User Info... | You guys could be the next best thing and it wouldn't matter. I could care less if you can rock or not Jeff and co. You've single handedly made your own band the biggest laughing stock in the city, if not the entire country, with your overinflated ego Jeff. And why you continuously feel the need to use these boards, when nobody supports you here, is absolutely insane. I'd be quite surprised if more than 2 people, if that, who frequent these boards would even attend. So all you're really trying to do is get responses like mine. You're a simple troll, nothing more, nothing less. - Wed, 19 Mar 2008 4:43pm
Mr. Hell User Info... | In all fairness to myself and everyone who mocks the fuck out of Jeffy, I did hear the online samples of The Perish that were linked from their website. It was not mind-blowing. It was simple like how when I first learned power chords I wrote a song simple. It was forgettable... Except for the lyrics, which were so poor that I remember laughing uncontrollably. The singing was wavering and just out of key enough to make my cat shit on the floor and run out of the room screeching. But I AM a sucker for a band that has a unique idea and puts on a show. The thing is, I don't want to see this upcoming show. I want to see the Royal show on tape because that was the show that was hyped to have production that cost in the tens of thousands of dollars. That was the one where a few lucky souls got to see the shopping cart space ship. Jeff and Co. didn't have any idea that what they were doing was not a world class production. Now, Jeff has been ridiculed so much on here that I am certain he will pull out all the stops to be sure he is not laughed at again. However, stranger things have happened! Like when those aliens come talk to Jeff. - Wed, 19 Mar 2008 5:35pm Edited: Thu, 20 Mar 2008 11:58am
Rekoyle User Info... | What's a Perish? Who is this Chomper dude and what's up his ass? Where the fuck is Sooke? - Thu, 20 Mar 2008 2:24am
Chopper User Info... | There's this cool thing called 'search' Rekoyle. Use it. And if you don't know where Sooke is, then you're probably not from the island so it really doesn't matter. - Thu, 20 Mar 2008 2:30am
Rekoyle User Info... | Just filled with info, eh Chomper? - Thu, 20 Mar 2008 3:09am
Rekoyle User Info... | Well, I went and looked at the other threads on the Perish, but I don't see anything about thousands of $ in production. It come across like this Jeff guy put on a show at the Royal Theater and a lot of people got ripped off - judging by the animosity I see - and now all those same people are out to bash Jeff for taking their cash. How much did you all get jacked for? If he stole your money, why haven't any of you charged him for theft or whatever? I mean this Chomper guy says he doesn't care about Jeff or the Perish, but can't help but pipe up and whine about some all ages gig way out in the middle of no where, seems a little hypocritical. Where is Chomper playing on March 29th? Looks to me like the Perish are just promoting a gig - just like the thread headline says - shamelessly. - Thu, 20 Mar 2008 3:53am Edited: Thu, 20 Mar 2008 3:56am
Chopper User Info... | It has nothing to do with anyone getting ripped off. And nobody but Jeff and the Royal know how many tickets were actually sold. What I do know, is that they had people out on the street actually giving tickets away so it actually looked like more than 5 people, more than likely friends or family of Jeff and Christine, actually showed up. They were also interviewed by Monday Magazine, and that was complete comedy. Even the person who wrote the article had issue taking Jeff seriously. Not shocking when you show up for said interview with a 'grey' mask on your subnormal skull. The issue is with Jeff's overinflated ego and outright bullshit. When the original show was announced he bragged how there would be, as Mr. Hell already stated, tens of thousands of dollars in lights, special effects and props. What people saw was welfare props, crap lighting (the local bars have better) and a dancing cheese. There were less than a handful of people at the show. Jeff calls that a huge success, in fact still brags how much of a success it was. So much so, that they are supposedly planning a show at Save on Arena (never going to happen). Read Mr' Hell's post about their actual talent, or lack thereof. They're not musicians, they're a laughing stock in Victoria. There's a lot more that can be posted regarding this, but I really don't have time to write a novel. Edit: And originally this thread wasn't in this section. One of the mods moved it here. - Thu, 20 Mar 2008 4:08am Edited: Thu, 20 Mar 2008 4:12am
Rekoyle User Info... | Oh. So Jeff booked a show and played it, but since it didn't measure up to anyone's expectations - except Jeff's - you couldn't care less about what the Perish does. Is that right? So, where would the Perish have to play to "pass inspection"? Oh right, the Save on Foods Arena; and they have to pack it to the rafters too, no doubt. Hmmm.... Well, it's too bad there's such a cliquey musician community in Victoria. I always thought musicians were 'work together' types. Perhaps Jeff's ambitious claims have gotten ahead of his spot in the Victoria music-scene pecking order. Who is the next Victoria band slated to be made into superstars anyway? I mean somebody must have majority influence in this town. Who picks the winners and the losers from the pool of local bands? Has he/she got a phone # and an email address? - Thu, 20 Mar 2008 4:45am Edited: Thu, 20 Mar 2008 4:46am
Mr. Hell User Info... | Rekoyle = Jeff or Jeff's Puppet. Look, the issue is if you are going to hype up your band, then fall painfully short of what you said you were going to do, expect to be mocked and bashed. If you come through with some amazing Pink Floyd quality show like you've been hinting at doing, all of us will be silenced. Or, you could admit you are full of shit and just be honest about The Perish's capabilities without the hype. If that had happened from the get-go, we wouldn't be having this conversation today. Seriously, I wish you luck. Looking forward to seeing The Perish on SOFA's giant TV. - Thu, 20 Mar 2008 11:52am Edited: Thu, 20 Mar 2008 11:56am

Rekoyle User Info... | That's a very cinical conclusionary jump there Mr. Hell - or is it Chomper? Probably one-in-the-same or hand-holders at least. Obviously, anyone you don't know is this Jeff from the Perish and your dillusion of persecution has led you to a mental collapse which is why you're paranoid that everyone on this site - who isn't a moderator - is in cahoots with your target of animosity. Jl User Info... | "Obviously, anyone you don't know is this Jeff from the Perish and your dillusion of persecution has led you to a mental collapse which is why you're paranoid that everyone on this site " man, to be bluntly honest; listen to the music on the website(the perish) and ask yourself a)are they of a professional quality(in terms of songwriting, musicianship) b)would you pay ticket prices of the SOFA(its not cheap; even for the perish) to see 'said' act? In MY opinion, I would not spend the money because a)I dont think, from hearing the music on their site, that they are of a quality that would cost 45$ to see. That being said, I would be soaking up all the kruffufle thats caused here and use that as an advantage that people ARE taking notice and, despite the negative feedback, any press is good press(just dont let your ego get the best of you). Obveously you cant please everyone, and theres absolutely no sense in trying to convince any of us otherwise on a messageboard. At the end of the day this is a small smattering of what Victoria's live music scene is all about. Now, LETS SEE SOME CHEESE! - Sat, 22 Mar 2008 4:31pm Edited: Sat, 22 Mar 2008 4:32pm

laprider User Info... | as I will not be here I can't make this one, sorry. But as there is always so much cafuffle (sp?) over Jeff and the Perish...how's this Jeff. Video tape the show and post some clips...the ol' put up or shut up, seems fair, I am curious and still willing to to bankroll a club date reproduction of the royal show! Of course under the more then reasonable terms I have previously offered...better yet pop on down and do some tunes at my open mic, always all welcome! have fun I'll be looking over head for any visitors from afar that night. cheers Steve - Tue, 25 Mar 2008 6:58pm
Bruce Graham User Info... | "I am curious and still willing to to bankroll a club date reproduction of the royal show!" What you didn't hate it enough last time? Here's a thought, how about Lap, Chomper and Mr. Hell do the reproduction, and the rest of us can keep working on new material. - Wed, 26 Mar 2008 7:40am
Mr. Hell User Info... | Your attempt at flipping this around is not working, Rekoyle Graham. We all just want to see this amazing spectacle Jeff hyped for so long. - Wed, 26 Mar 2008 1:16pm Edited: Wed, 26 Mar 2008 4:08pm
Jl User Info... | wow, if someone offered to bankroll a show for me; no matter the feedback Id be all over it like a sore on a meth-head. Like I've said, any press is good press! at least people are taking note. Good or bad, doesn't matter. What I dont understand is Bruce, Rekoyle(sp?), and Jeff all are/can be very defensive about their music/"stuff". For what reason? Its a messageboard with a, like i also said before, small smattering of what this cities music scene is about. Sure theres groups of people/friends/aquaintences(sp?) that share a commonality with music and they have an outlet here to express themselves however they see fit. Just leave it at that; And Jeff, I dont speak of this as the first time you've posted here.... you know the routine ;). If I had a car that would take me out to sooke; Id go to the show just to say that i've been there and done that. But I hope that, if for any reason, my feedback isn't exactly making "the perish" out to be a grammy winner; I wont be lambasted by negative comments about me. Its just an opinion of 1 person! - Wed, 26 Mar 2008 2:30pm

Bruce Graham User Info... | Mr. Hell; Not trying to flip anything. I was replying to Laprider's request for a rehash of a 3 year old show that everyone here totally slams. If he and the other pseudo-nyms on here want a replay of a show that was so terrible, perhaps they should show the Perish how all you REAL musicians would do the Alien Rock Theater Show. I never saw the Royal Theater Show. I don't even care what all the critics have to say about it. That was then (3years ago). I'm not stuck in the past. Tommorrow is a whole new day. If you wish to dwell on a 3 year old show, so-be-it. BTW: I am not Rekoyle. I have no reason to hide my name or my opinions from you or anyone else here. So keep up your paranoid diatribe, 'coz it only makes me laugh harder. Fish on! - Thu, 27 Mar 2008 1:01am
Mr. Hell User Info... | I'm sure most of us think that an official release of the tapes of said show would be the proper thing to do. Jeff insisted that the show was a success and nothing creates interest like success! Even if you guys did do that same show again, it wouldn't be the same at all because the belief in what was happening is no longer there. The genuine "This is a $60,000 production" attitude is what made that show what it was. Sounds to me like the new Perish won't be interesting at all. An anti-drug video made fun? Wow. Oh, and I believe Jeff's denial about Rekoyle, oddly enough. But I really don't believe yours. Maybe it's just the paranoia talking, but you strike me as Rekoyle. - Thu, 27 Mar 2008 2:01pm Edited: Thu, 27 Mar 2008 2:03pm
Chopper User Info... | “This will be a good thing for the kids,” said Noyes. “We’ll be playing covers and some originals.” That alone, from yet another self serving article, speaks volumes. A cover band with, I'm sure, a few originals. Yepp, these guys are bigtime. (The last sentence was extremely tainted with sarcasm, so don't let your ego take it as a compliment Jeff and co). - Thu, 27 Mar 2008 2:37pm
laprider User Info... | I believe I signed my name and it is in my profile...and I kind of am around here and there, so no Hiding on my part. I said what I said, stand by it...and ask again to post some vid from the show, if I wasn't going down south for the weekend I would go to the show, I want to see if there has been any improvement and if the perish is all that! AS for "perhaps they should show the Perish how all you REAL musicians would do the Alien Rock Theater Show." well get in touch I'll get you comps to any show, concert, opera, recital, tour, etc that I am directly involved in the production of. as for Alien theatre, not my bag, but as for its set design, lighting design, and general readiness to mount a production in a legitimate and dear to me theatre...well I've seen better productions when my daughter was in Preschool, that is just calling a spade a spade. IT was probably actually the worst actual "production" I have ever seen. BUT as always stated by me, I enjoyed myself immensly and would go again...laughing is great for the soul, I laughed so hard I cried! I had a wonderful night actually! cheers Steve Barrie - Thu, 27 Mar 2008 7:31pm Edited: Thu, 27 Mar 2008 7:32pm

Jerf From The Perish User Info... | hey, just wanted to say thanks for all the support we got at the show. We managed to sell 27 copies of or first CD that night and signed lots of CDs posters and T-shirts. Another TOTAL SUCCESS for Perish Productions. It was a great way to start the year. I DID, however manage to scam a poster for the show from a telephone pole in Sooke. It was hard to get off since it was held on by about a thousand industrial strength staples but in the end I persevered; it is now a prized possession.I love how the address is spelled "Shielsds Rd." Mr. Hell Messages Posted: Overseer of common sense on this board, one half {guitar and vocals} of 'Acorn Hell', lead vocalist of 'Rotterdam', bassist/vocalist in 'Run Like Hell', bassist in Canadian Underground Death Army (C.U.D.A.), was the bassist of now-defunct 'Meatlocker Seven' and apparently quite a grouch. | Awww, can you not accept that fact that the majority of people think you're a joke? You have to claim that anyone who doesn't love, or even respect The Perish is suckling on my anus? You think I control everyone's opinion about your totally successful group, yet you claim I am paranoid? Sore loser. I didn't even notice any show review criticism from Tom, nor any claim that he saw the show. He actually went so far as to start his post with "Damn it! I missed it." Bruce Graham User Info... | I'm quite aware that the Perish will never get any respect on this site, regardless of where, when or to what size audience we play to. After all, there are several people here who weren't at the Mar. 29th show, yet still claim it sucked. No one can compete with that kind of distorted intellect. Since I've never seen any of the bands the ney-sayers here are associated with, I can only assume that all their shows sucked too. None of you have seen me play, none of you have seen Devon play and most of you have never seen Jeff play. You just sit in your anal-retentive clique and judge everyone on your inner circle source of opinion while dwelling on some ancient history. Nothing ever changes - for better or worse - it just remains the same, ad nausium. Enjoy playing at Logan's forever. - Sat, 12 Apr 2008 1:51am Edited: Sat, 12 Apr 2008 1:57am

Mr. Hell User Info... | You are mistaken, Bruce. If The Perish lives up to the hype and promises made by Jeff initially, I'll eat my words, admit The Perish was right and even apologize. Damn, if your band could fulfill all that we were told, I'd make it my mission to spread the good word to the rest of the world. But those are real big "IFs". Conversely, if Jeff were to admit he was making up stories about The Perish's fantastic exploits, admit that aliens never sat down with him and told him the secrets of the universe and lets the world see the Royal show tapes I'll never contradict or mock him again. - Sat, 12 Apr 2008 1:53pm

sumyungai User Info... | You know, Jeff kind of reminds me of a singer we had back in NZ. He was a talentless hack with an ego that would fill BC Place. He strode around Auckland in a denim jacket emblazened with his name in rhinestones, Russ Le Roq. (I'll leave what we called him to your imagination.) He was a one man PR juggernaut. His band, Romanantix were quite well known, particularly for their DIva vocalist. He then landed the role of Frankenfurter in a touring production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show before departing for Australia in search of fame and fortune. Which he found as Russell Crowe, sadly proving once and for all that a lack of talent is no hinderance to fame. Good luck Jeff. - Mon, 14 Apr 2008 7:42am

Jl User Info... | "Since I've never seen any of the bands the ney-sayers here are associated with, I can only assume that all their shows sucked too" if you want links to my music, just ask. That way you dont have to assume and can make your own judgement. As I did with "the perish" 's set of recordings on that seizure inducing folly of a website that WAS up before. That's how I formulated my opinion of the perish(a band that just isn't my taste both in terms of songwriting and musical ability. Im not saying you guys DONT have talent... it just needs to be worked on to a level where it can be taken more professionally to back you up) dont get me wrong; im not songwriting genius either, but I have high expectations from people who talk themselves up. And lastly; why bother even writing a post like that Bruce? it only fuels the fires. - Mon, 14 Apr 2008 10:39am Edited: Mon, 14 Apr 2008 10:41am
