The Audio Technica AT4047 is a killer large diaphram studio mic. Great for vocals, electric guitar cabs, floor tom, etc. This mic is in MINT like new condition and includes the original case, original AT shock mount and unused warranty card. Has only been used sparingly in a smoke free home studio. These mics sell for around $650 plus taxes. I am asking $475.

Sorry yourself, dude - $650 sounds about right for a NEW mic. You link to a $300 US auction as an example of what they're supposed to be priced at? Weak. Here's another completed auction that ended at $357 US ($410 CDN)

Don't forget to add shipping + duty to that.

$475 doesn't seem that far off the mark now, does it? - Tue, 19 Dec 2006 10:16am

Buddy, with all due respect, $300 is a KILLER deal for an AT4047. I checked out all the current EBay listings for this mic, as well as all the adds at various professional recording forums. The going rate EVERYWHERE for a new AT4047 is $549 US. The average used price (in the US) is between $350 and $425. Then you have to add shipping, taxes and brokerage fee to that. Check the price at L&M and add taxes to that. Then come and have a look at my MINT condition mic, and you will see that over $200 off is a very fair price. Besides I said they are around $650 NEW. Sorry, dude, but my price is a very fair deal for this mic. If you don't like it, then wait for one at eBay for $300 US. :) - Tue, 19 Dec 2006 11:08am

"slighty" bitter? Surely you underestimate me.

If $300 is a killer deal, how come no-one wanted this one?

Funny how the new price just went from "around $650" to "$549" (which is what I found). You just depreciated your own mic. Well done.

And Steve's right, I should save my "buyer beware" message for those who've already been burned (by, say, some junkie who spells "shop" like "shoppe").

All kidding aside Tim, best of luck. - Tue, 19 Dec 2006 12:07pm

$650 CDN = $549 USD

Nothing fishy with that math. - Tue, 19 Dec 2006 2:01pm Edited: Tue, 19 Dec 2006 2:40pm

Okay Buddy, I will lay it out in plain english for you. These mics are $549 US, which translates to $635 CDN. Then you add 14% PST & GST to that for a total of $724. Then you add about $20 for shipping (actually probably more) and a $5 brokerage fee (more if shipped via UPS or FedX) and you have $749 CDN for this mic. While I didn't call them, I would suspect that this mic is about that same price or HIGHER at L&M. So you tell me where asking $475 for a MINT condition AT4047SV is trying to cheat people??

I could care less what kind of deals people can find through the internet or on eBay. Mine is local mic in GREAT condition for a VERY fair price saving of $274. And I am open to realistic offers. - Tue, 19 Dec 2006 3:10pm Edited: Tue, 19 Dec 2006 3:12pm

Not to cause more stir, but you can't use taxes and other fees to your sales pitch. That goes to the almighty ones in Ottawa. - Tue, 19 Dec 2006 3:55pm

"So you tell me where asking $475 for a MINT condition AT4047SV is trying to cheat people?? "
Well, since you asked . . . .
Actually, I didn't say you were trying to cheat people.
I merely said someone could get burned on a used mic, and here's how. Your mic is not new, and thus doesn't have a warranty (even tho you seem to want to price it like a new mic). Mics can get damaged internally (both the diaphragm and cartridge are very delicate) and not show a single scratch on the outside. And that is why used studio mics suffer more depreciation than other gear. If you think someone stands to save $274 buying your mic, tell me how much a new diaphragm or cartridge (factory installed) will
cost someone, and add that to your price.
I'm not doubting your intentions, I just think you're priced a bit rich. That's me, I'm not buying it.
Thanks for the english lesson. - Tue, 19 Dec 2006 5:07pm

This mic is guaranteed to have no diaphragm or cartridge damage, or any other damage whatsoever. It works as perfectly as a brand new mic.

I have seen at least three of these mics sell used at recording forum classifieds for $400 US. I would be willing to sell it for that price, which translates to about $460 CDN.

It will be going on eBay immediately after Xmas.

Thanks

I didn't realize there were so many ESL musicians on this board.
KG, here's a tip; a sentence represents one thought. It ends with a period, not a comma.
And as you clearly need more help with this;
A thought is something intelligent people have. When you meet such a person, they will let you know if you ever have one.
And as a parting gift, I would like to say you ALL need to get out more. Getting worked up over some dick (who isn't even a musician) talking smack is way out of scale. I thought musicians needed thick skins.

Are you gunna buy this mic from this guy or not Buddy? Cause if not I don't see any reason why you should be posting on his thread. Judging by the response from your comments, no one wants to hear what you have to say. Also Judging by how many times you posted on this topic, you need to get out more.

Good luck selling the Mic, thought I'd help a man making an honest sale. - Wed, 20 Dec 2006 12:58pm Edited: Wed, 20 Dec 2006 1:06pm

Oh dear, sweet, simple Buddy. You have so much to teach us yet so little time. Please pity us and good luck with your mission. With your selfless help, I look forward to being really, really intellingent like you soon . Oh, and your sense of humour..?....sublime. I'd wish you good luck with everything but with all that intelligence you possess..who am I kidding! A guy like you doesn't need luck. Maybe just a few friends. - Sat, 23 Dec 2006 8:52pm Edited: Sat, 23 Dec 2006 9:03pm
