Puter | RIP OFF! - Mon, 30 Dec 2002 3:19pm
tech guy | actually it isnt a bad deal with the monitor. You'd be looking at $500 for a basic package with an xp1800 and 128 mb RAM. This guys machine has a 7200 RPM harddrive, a Soundblaster Live ( only one better from SB and that the Audigy now.. but Live was their best ) The Logitech mouse is at least $30, the monitor would cost ya $75 Used and XP $150. A new XP1800mhz ( about 1.4 ghz clock ) basic package ( 128 mb ddr ) is approx $500 add monitor $250, mouse $30, XP $150, your well over $1000 with taxes. - Mon, 30 Dec 2002 3:40pm

Tech Guy | That onboard sound and video is CRAp. Glenn guys has a Soundblaster Live, and a TNT2 card. The XP install will cost you $150 plus tax for the software, and you'll have to activate it through Microslop. The monitor will cost you $250 plus tax for a cheesy ass cheap 17" that'll come with a 1 year warranty max. Glenns comp, I would bet comes loaded with software? - Tue, 31 Dec 2002 8:34pm

Milton User Info... | I don't need a computer, but I do know a little something about computers and I highly doubt that anyone will be able to get a computer that decent for $600. It's a good score. If I were you I would take it into Gizmo's, they will probably give you that on the spot. - Wed, 1 Jan 2003 7:36pm

Bob the Builder | Intel P4 1.8GHz (400MHz FSB) Asus P4S333 ATX Motherboard 256MB PC2100 DDRAM 1.44MB Floppy Drive 40GB (7200rpm) UDMA Hard Drive 52X EIDE CD-ROM Drive nVidia Geforce2 MX400 64MB Video Card AC97 3D Sound on Board 10/100 Base Ethernet Card Multimedia PS2 Keyboard PS2 Wheel mouse Amplified Speakers 17" Tower Case power supply $699 Where is the monitor? And hasn't anyone told you that P4's suck. They are too unstable and do not even run at full duplex. Notice the lack of an OS? What about tax? There is no way someone can walk away with this computer for under a $1000. - Wed, 1 Jan 2003 11:36pm
Bob the Builder | Oh and did I mention that it also has less ram, no tv out on the video card, and onboard sound? Onboard sound sucks and won't play shit for music or games. - Wed, 1 Jan 2003 11:40pm
Anonymous | Your computer is not worth $600 when you can get a brand new 1.8ghz Pentium IV setup with dvd drive, 40gb hard drive, 17 inch monitor for $799 cnd. - Fri, 3 Jan 2003 12:36pm
Tech Guy | Check out your 1.8ghz. Now look at what video card and soundcard and quality of monitor you get with it. You'll be calling me within a year to come fix it too, and I dont come cheap hahaha! - Fri, 3 Jan 2003 3:17pm
shlom | Hey Tech guy...you sound like a tech guy - socially incoherent. Go back to your video game and quit spouting off, when you don't even really know what you are talking about. Dipshit. - Fri, 3 Jan 2003 3:28pm
Ike | Hey Bob the builder. Less RAM? Are you seriously trying to compare DDR to SDRAM? That P4 from Generic has 512KB of L2 cache and a 533 front side Bus as well. I'm assuming that whoever uses this board is looking at computers for recording and mixing music. That $600 P3 machine is a joke. A 32MB video card? A sound blaster live? If you are serious about using a PC for the purposes of recording, you are going to buy a Delta, Aardvark, Motu etc. type card. So, it does not matter if you have on board sound, because it will just be disabled anyway. And graphics should be your last concern on an audio workstation. If you want it for gaming -well good luck trying to run any current games on it. Spend $1000 and get a real machine that you can actually do something with. And by the way, Generic (or Atic) sells AMD too. Also, no mention of available PCI slots was given in the description of the PC. - Fri, 3 Jan 2003 3:32pm
Glenn User Info... | Hmmmmm a Joke eh? tsk tsk tsk Thats like saying Asus is not the #1 Motherboard&Graphic Card maker. And u need to learn about doing some research Pal If u wanted to know how many PCI slots it has U Might TRY TO Look Up the model# at http://www.asus.com Im just trying to a sell Computer.Save the comments for the peanut gallery - Fri, 3 Jan 2003 8:17pm
