Akh User Info... | Item: Roland JX-3P (keyboard) Description: In excellent condition. Includes the manual and schematics. Price: $350 Item: Roland MKS-70 (rackmount) Description: Has the usual rack-rash, but is otherwise in good condition. I believe the OS version is 1.05. Price: $450 Item: Roland MKS-50 (rackmount) Description: Has the usual rack-rash, but is otherwise in good condition. Price: $250 Item: KiwiTechnics Patch Editor Description: Serial #2. Has the original box. Originally an AC adapter wasn't included, but I'll include one if requested. I'll also include a DIN cable for use with the JX-3P. Being an early version, Murray has told me a $35 replacement CPU would be ideal to ensure compatibility with future updates, but I haven't had any problems. The power switch broke during shipping, and although Murray sent me a replacement which should be pretty easy to solder in to place I just put a wire in so the unit is always on when it's plugged in. The replacement switch and installation instructions will be included. Price: $400 Item: Roland D-550 + PG-1000 (rackmount) Description: Has the usual rack-rash, but is otherwise in good condition. Price: $500 Package deal: Buy the JX-3P, MKS-70, MKS-50 and Patch Editor for $1,200, or add the Roland D-550 and PG-1000 to buy the whole lot for $1,600. The Not-So Fine Print: I cannot accept trades at this time. I'm only open to offers if multiple items are being bought, and preference is given to those interested in buying multiple items. Other Items: I have pending sales for a Roland Juno 60, Korg PolySix, 32-channel Soundcraft 200B, Roland TR-727 and Tama Techstar TS-306. They may become available, or I may be willing to sell them to a different buyer if nothing has yet been finalized with the current prospective buyers. I also have an Ensoniq ESQ-1 (the metal chassis version), but its battery needs to be replaced. Someone who shall remain nameless indicated they would buy my ESQ-1 a few months ago, and I would really appreciate it if they did so... you know who you are ;) - Thu, 23 Jun 2011 9:17am Edited: Thu, 23 Jun 2011 12:30pm
zedius User Info... | I'm quite interested in the MKS-70. I have a JX-8P, and wanted to upgrade to the JX-10 a while ago, but didn't because of its sysex issues. Do you know anything about the different OS's, and how this unit is for sysex? - Thu, 23 Jun 2011 1:14pm
Akh User Info... | From what I understand versions 1.00 to 1.03 of the MKS-70 OS doesn't really handle SYSEX properly at all. OS versions 1.00 to 1.03 offer a variety of differences (and errors) in how various MIDI CC messages are handled as well. I've been told the differences between OS versions 1.04 to 1.08 are negligible, but I *suspect* that multitimbral functionality isn't handled properly by SYSEX or MIDI CC with OS versions 1.04 to 1.07. My tests with SYSEX worked properly, but I did not test multitimbral functionality adequately. I've heard version 1.08 isn't actually an official Roland OS, but rather a hack of the version 1.07 OS. You can buy upgrade ROM chips for the MKS-70 (and other synthesizers) from http://www.vintageplanet.nl and if I recall correctly the MKS-70 has socketed ROM chips, meaning no desoldering or soldering is required to upgrade the OS, but I'm at work right now so I cannot confirm this. - Thu, 23 Jun 2011 1:29pm Edited: Thu, 23 Jun 2011 2:02pm

Akh User Info... | It looks like the Korg PolySix and 32-channel Soundcraft 200B will be available after all. The PolySix is $500, and it has had the battery removed and has a loose end-cheek held in place with clear tape. The 32-channel Soundcraft 200B is $600, and it's in excellent condition. I'm still open to offers on multiple items. - Mon, 27 Jun 2011 11:46am
