A list of things I’ve been thinking about selling/trading away. I *MIGHT* be having a HUGE studio sale soon (synths, modulars, vintage, etc etc)…. Stay posted…

- Roland re-201 space echo. Needs lubing (starts to slow down sometimes), but is in good shape $400US includes 1 EXTRA tape
- Yamaha QY70 sequencer/drum machine/synth… portable groovebox ! great sketchpad, or something to keep your music mojo while traveling $200US
- Roland MC505 groovebox/ fully programmable synth/drum machine/sequencer… one of the best loop-style sequencers you can buy. $400US
- Cort headless bass. A bit beat up, but a good bass. Includes hardshell case (!) $100cdn takes it, but you have to pick it up
- Tama ts306 drum brain … funky sounds $80 US
- TR707 drum machine adapter is permanently wired to it $100 US
- Boss rdd-10 AWESOME little box. tape-like delay (1/2 rack size). Great warm sound, with modulation too ! $250US
- Korg sdd1000 crazy modulate-able rack delay also has a “sample” option that I’ve never used… $150US

In trade, I’m looking for:
- a kick-ass compressor
- 5-space rack case or a 6-space with wheels/retractable handle
- One of the new BOSS loopstations

i put it in US$ because i belong to a bunch of mailing lists (mostly US-based) & posted the items there as well...

it's not hard to convert. also, because if you're searching for this stuff, all the prices you will see will be in us$, so it makes it easier to compare

anyways, didn't think it would be so taxing on your brain :) - Sat, 29 Apr 2006 8:46pm

Brooke Maxwell is a freelance musician based in Victoria, BC, Canada. He is also a sound designer, composer, arranger and educator. In addition to Gruff, he has underscored and designed several local and national works: And Slowly Beauty [Belfry Theatre, National Arts Centre, Tarragon Theatre], A Tender Thing [Belfry Theatre] The Glass Menagerie, Long Days' Journey into Night, The Master Builder [Bluebridge Theatre] Joan [Theatre SKAM], Busted Up [Open Pit Theatre] and the widely acclaimed Ride the Cyclone.

He studied jazz composition and arranging on scholarship at Berklee College of Music in Boston and received a BA in English Literature from McGill University [1996], and later a B.Ed from UVic [2000]. He worked as a music educator in schools and privately from 2000-2012 in the Victoria area. As a musician, he is gigging regularly, both as a founding member of several Victoria based super groups [The Beautiful Maladies (Tom Waits), Wild Honey Pie (the Beatles) and the Chuckleberries (Chuck Berry)] and under his own name. He has been the music director at Esquimalt United church since 2006, and is the accompanist/arranger and occasional co-director of the Pandora Chorus.

In 2020-21, he produced the cast album for RTC, which is now available through Ghost Light Records on all major streaming services. This year, his project has been mixing and releasing an album of the wonderful music of Gruff.

Brooke currently performs around the island with his various projects.
