Message Board > Seeking Musicians > Reaver (Melodic Death Metal) seeks talented drummer |
Above the knee User Info... | Local melodic death metal outfit Reaver needs a new drummer. Reaver ha been together for 2 years and have played quite a few shows in Victoria/Vancouver. On a local level we are a headlining band and we are in the process of putting out our debut cd (8 songs) which was recorded with Prodigal Sound Studios (all recording and mixing is done, artwork underway, mastering and printing to come soon). When comolete, we function as a 5 piece with a fairly unique sound. We like to combine a huge amount of dual guitar harmonies (In Flames style) with a very epic style of songwriting (Scar Symmetry) and a strong attention to groove, rhythm and dynamics. Vocals are purely screaming to bring a heavy contrast to all the melody. Most songs are pretty up-tempo since we really like to put an emphasis on playing a very energetic live show. We are looking for a drummer with the following qualities: - Own your own kit. - Very competent at drumming and keeping a solid tempo. - Must be able to come up with your own drum parts for future songs but able to play current ones (8) as close as possible to the way they are recorded. - Able to jam 3 times a week (we have a jam spot where gear can be left) - Must be able to pitch in financially for the jam space and future costs (don't worry, we have the album covered). - Must help load/unload gear at shows. - A positive attitute, creativity and an interest in diversyfying/bettering yourself at your instrument is a strong asset. - If the band turns out to feel "right" for you, we would like a solid commitment to the furthering of the band (touring, etc). - All ages will be considered So hopefully that doesn't sound like too much to ask for. We are all serious mucicians and though its a blast to play the music, we intend to do our best to take this as far as we can. If you're interested, we would be more than happy to send you some of the songs from the album to help you decide/show you what you can expect. What will happen if you are interested is we'll send youa few songs, give you a bit to learn one/a couple and we can jam it out at the space and see how it feels. Please send an e-mail to [email protected] if you are interested and I will be quick to reply and get the ball rolling. We are very anxious to get to playing again! - Mon, 17 Aug 2009 10:29am | ||
