Damocles User Info... | Right, we need a bass player. Plenty of originals to go around. Lots of different styles and a plan. We're concentrating on writing and laying down tracks and need some one that can fit the brotherhood. - Wed, 12 Nov 2003 7:05pm
KnifeGhost User Info... | What's your sound? - Thu, 13 Nov 2003 12:16am
Damocles User Info... | We're a rock band. Little screaming and just really good tunes. Our sound is music, melodic, heavy at times, light when it needs to be. Very rythmic. - Thu, 13 Nov 2003 7:12am
KnifeGhost User Info... | Don't any of your play bass? I mean, don't tell any bass players I said this, but if you can play guitar, you should be able to play bass well eough to lay down a few tracks.... - Thu, 13 Nov 2003 10:11pm
H User Info... | KnifeGhost, while it is true that any guitar player may be able to "get the notes down", it is unlikely that they will posess the "bassist mentality" and be able to interact properly (or improperly, depending on the song/project) with the drummer, melody and rhythmn. Believe it or not, there's more to bass than just playing the root notes. Unless of course, we're talking about punk. Anyways duders I'd help you out but my right hand is in a sling (jerking it isn't just fun and games boys and girls). Good luck. - Thu, 13 Nov 2003 10:13pm
KnifeGhost User Info... | You're a bass palyer, aren't you? But seriously, I'm aware that there's more to playing bass than playing root notes..... I learned that by picking up a bass (as a guitar player) and playing it..... It's different than playing guitar, but a week or two locked in your room playing bass should be enough if you just want something to get a recording down.... - Fri, 14 Nov 2003 12:34pm
Pierce User Info... | I have to agree with that comment. PLaying guitar should definately be enough to lay down a recording. After all, if you are looking for a bass player, just for a recording, shouldnt the music already be written? - Fri, 14 Nov 2003 1:02pm
Damocles User Info... | Perhaps I should clarify. We would like a bass player for a recording project. Yes we have quite a few songs at the ready, but we'd like someone that fits the mix. Each member of the band has a unique twist on his playing style and we feel a true bass player is the way to go. No pressure on whether or not to stick with the band but we all believe that if the mix is right it will stay that way. Cheers, guys! - Fri, 14 Nov 2003 4:40pm
KnifeGhost User Info... | Right.... If you're looking for a Bass Player, that's different from just needing someone to play bass.... Well, good luck with the project.... - Fri, 14 Nov 2003 9:30pm
