I'm interested in taking vocal lessons, so that I can do some back up in a few bands that I'm playing in. Does anyone know of any male vocal teachers here in Victoria? - Sun, 28 Sep 2003 2:24am

I've talked to a few musicsions, and they both told me to look for a male teacher. I think it has something to do with learning from someone who has similar vocal cords to you. There's also some issue with falseto, but I'm don't really know exactley what that is. - Sun, 28 Sep 2003 9:55pm

I personally don't think it matters. They can still teach you how to use your diaphram. That's the most important thing. Learn how to use it gives you more control and doesn't wreck your throat. It's up to you though. - Mon, 29 Sep 2003 5:34pm

Yeah. The diaphram is the most important thing. Could you please email me your contacts? - Tue, 30 Sep 2003 5:59pm

You might want to check out this book. It has been good for me. It offers productive exercises and warm-ups and it also has good general information about your voice.

my boyfriend Christer (former vocalist of Dizzy) could assist you with your vocals and he's very precise with technique if i might add. would give you the right tools so you can go home and get crackin' with breathing exercises (the hub of learning to sing). if you want to check out his detail with technique, go to:

http://www.feelingdizzy.com (i think there are still some samples)

p.s. That book above is a great one, has EVERYTHING in it. worth the coin.
