Roger Haus User Info... | I am a drummer with experience and always wanted to form a Level 42 cover band. If there is any bass player out there that can pull off the bass ( minus the vocals would be fine) I would love to hear from you! I have a great rehearsal place, and more importantly THE TIME. If you can only play once or twice a month, let's not waste each others time. - Wed, 2 Apr 2008 12:59pm

sumyungai User Info... | Unfortunately, it's pretty hard to pull off the King's riffs without the sequenced bass lines behind you. I used to do 'Running in the Family' and 'Lessons in Love' in my old eighties band, and really, most of the bass was actually keys. That's how he pulls off the vocals, he's not really holding the groove together, he's just hitting accents. Good luck if you get it going! - Sun, 13 Apr 2008 8:00pm Edited: Sun, 13 Apr 2008 8:02pm
roger haus User Info... | Interesting, have you actually seen them live? They use some sequenced keys, but to say he doesn't hold the groove is pretty hilarious, and he sings over top of some fairly syncopated bass lines, and also uses a custom synth bass! He's generally reagarded as one of the best funk bassists in the world! That's pretty funny! - Tue, 15 Apr 2008 4:25pm
sumyungai User Info... | Yeah, I've seen them live... I've mixed monitors for them once or twice, too... - Tue, 15 Apr 2008 5:18pm
