Message Board > Seeking Musicians > Melodic Death metal band searching for commited drummer with mad skills |
Above the knee User Info... | I've recently put together a melodic death metal band and we are missing only a drummer to round out the fold. We are all in our low twenties, with myself clocking in at 22. We are from Victoria and play in a style with similarities to Mors Principium Est, Darkane, Soiwork, Scar Symmetry, Mercenary and even In Flames (though none of these bands accurately describe the sound). About 8 songs are fully written and 5 are recorded as instrumentals (with midi drums). We are in need of a drummer who is willing to devote around 2 days a week to jamming in the hopes of playing shows soon. This is a serious project. We are very commited to getting the music out there. Requirements for the drummer would be: A lot of skill using the double kick (lots of double bass), the ability to play fairly difficult pieces with precision after some practice, your own gear, over 18, and above all, reliability (no flakes). To know what we expect, I suggest listening to Soilwork's Predator's Portrait album ("Grand Failure Anthem" would be a good choice if you only want to hear one song). The drums are definitely a stand-out instrument in our songs so it would be a good chance to showcase some wicked drumming. If I've made the songs sound impossible, they really arent, but they definitelly are not easy. I hope I havent asked for too much, its just that I'm really excited about these songs and I want them to sound as good as I think they are. I look forward to hearing from someone. If you arent sure, e-mail me at [email protected] and I can send you some samples to give you a better idea. Let me know if I've forgot any important details! - Fri, 31 Aug 2007 9:08pm | ||
