Message Board > Seeking Musicians > Interest in starting a unique Choral/classical/gothic/power project? |
tiri User Info... | Hi there, I. am looking to meet some likeminded musicians to explore a unique project. What I am envisioning is "cathedral -orchestra-rock" its a hard genre to explain. something like Era or Lesiem from Germany. Gregorian/rock??? I am a singer in a Large Choir in town and I am a composer and singer and play cello. It would good to get a few people together, singers, some strings, instruments, all we need is a place to brain storm. Its an idea I have been having a long time! interested let me know. Whatever happens,,interested in meeting people with passion for powerfully creative music! Tiri email me at [email protected] - Sat, 7 Apr 2007 11:28pm
Michael User Info... | Hi This is a pasted copy of a message sent to several people, but I thought you might like to hear the Gregorian rock (silly fusion name, but what else describes it?) piece I have at my myspace site (listed below). I composed it about 15 years ago, re-recorded it last year. I'd like to do some acapella stuff, which then bursts into full heavy instruments. -thanks! Michael I am moving back to Victoria in May, seeking to form a band/collective or join an existing project. Looking for someone to cut and paste multiple percussion styles in a live setting (and to record also) as well as a keyboardist. I am a mid-30's vocalist/songwriter, and have a guitarist who will be in Victoria periodically. Darker but soulful heavy electronica-influenced sound, lush harmonies (some acapella) so singing ability is a plus. Influences: TV On the Radio, Interpol, Massive Attack, Tricky, Chemical Brothers, Dandy Warhols, Cure, Joy Division, old Spirituals/Gospel, 50's Doo-wop, PJ Harvey, Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Fado, Spiritualized, Gregorian Chant, Middle Eastern music of all sorts. You can hear some of my songs (demos, with looped drum samples and midi instruments, so a little sterile but nice when re-recorded) at http://www.myspace.com/amortals - Thu, 19 Apr 2007 9:16am
