Brendan User Info... | Hi, I play keyboards and I just moved to victoria a couple of days ago. I'm looking for musicians (specifically bass & drums/percussion, but i'll consider anything) to start up a groove/jam band. I'm in the process of getting set up with a G4 powerbook and the program "live" by ableton, if anyone is familiar with that. i'm wanting to do something that is based on sampled loops, beats, grooves, etc but all created live on stage. I'd like a bass player who knows how to get into people's bones, if you know what i mean. nice, deep, fat bass lines that make you nod your head. this music will be mostly (if not totally) improvised, so improv skills are top priority. you need to feel comfortable getting lost in a 20 minute long jam, knowing that eventually you'll find your way out and to the ending. i have a jazz background, and would like someone who has knowledge of jazz theory and harmonies. it would be a huge bonus if you have some knowledge of and contacts in the music scene here, ie. know where to look for gigs, etc. because i'm new to town, and i don't know where to start looking. please call me if you are interested. (250) 727-3798. i don't have regual access to internet, so please call, not email. - Thu, 15 Sep 2005 3:41pm | ||
