Message Board > Seeking Musicians > Brentwood School of Music needs a guitar teacher and drum teacher |
Steve User Info... | The Brentwood School of Music is looking for a drum teacher as well as a guitar teacher to start this september. The guitar teacher needs to have had some kind of training that would qualify them to teach. They must be able to play rock/pop and also to lead students through a method book and be able to field any questions they might have regarding theory (chord theory, scales etc). Must be able to read music. We have a booming guitar dept at the school and we need to have someone some of the new students that we're expecting to sign up this year. As for the Drum teacher, we've had probably 70 calls over the last year asking for drum lessons that, unfortunately, we have had to turn away because we didn't have a drum teacher. We need someone who can bring their own drums with them and someone who can teach on sundays. Experience is a must. If you are interested in either of these positions, call Carrie, the school's principal at 652-3115. I'll check this thread, but you can also email me at [email protected] - Mon, 20 Jun 2005 9:18pm
The Box Drone User Info... | My roommate is a very personable Jazz Grad from Malaspina, who is all about the pop/rock, I'll pass this on to him. Is this like a full time will-pay-the-bills kind of job, or more of a 'make a few extra bucks in your free time' kind of job? - Tue, 21 Jun 2005 7:06am
Steve User Info... | Usually the way it works is that you start out small with one or two days of teaching. We're not handing a pre-determined number of students over here, its a matter of how many new students sign up with the school. We've had an incredible increase in guitar students over the past few years. The guy who started with us last year now has 4 days of students. We're expecting a similar level of sign ups this year. The pay is quite good though, even just a couple days pulls in quite a bit. - Tue, 21 Jun 2005 8:09am
