| swallowingstars User Info... |  I'm looking for someone who is better than I am, so if you're just starting out - please don't reply to this ad. I also do melodic, folk-rock/goth - so if that's not your cup of tea, don't reply - you'll just be unhappy. This is unfortunately, not a paying gig (at this point anyway) -- but would be really great for someone who wants to sink their teeth into a creative project and see something happen with it, perform, tour, etc. If you are an anal, perfectionist, control freak, musical genius - we should get along perfectly. :D I've got a great drummer, bassist, lead guitar and a great practice space -- plus a ton of great stuff going on, good contacts, etc. This is a serious project and will involve touring, recording, etc. - so if you're just a hobbyist, again - this project is probably not for you. You can go listen to my old stuff at http://www.carolinespence.com under music -- I've got a LOT of newer, better stuff now... but at least, that will give you some idea. My influences are probably quite a bit different from what my music actually sounds like -- but here goes: Peter Gabriel, Fleetwood Mac, October Project, Folk Implosion, REM, Smiths, Patti Smith, Bjork, Cure, Travis, Pooka, Sarah McLachlan and Six Pence None the Richer, Cocteau Twins... so that's a blend of influences as well as music my stuff has been compared to. As for the 'goth' bit - it's just flavouring - lots of people used to tell me that our stuff, especially live, reminded them of stuff off the Projekt label - probably because I use a lot of ethereal harmonies. You must understand song structure, be creative, be easy to get along with, pick up songs quickly and be able to tour (at the very least on weekends), play lots of shows, and be able to travel to the UK for 2 weeks next year - ie. you are able to get a passport, no legal problems, as well as be responsible and not afraid to speak your mind. We also meet on Wednesday and Sunday evenings. I need people who can make my music less folky and more arranged/melodic alt-rock. Who are creative and talented. Experienced. Who 'get' what I'm trying to do and who can get into it. Energy and exuberance, especially when performing is an asset. I need people who play guitar/keys better than I do. I've been playing rhythm guitar for 9 years (though I'm not an ace at it), but that should give you some idea of how experienced I need you to be. This is a long-term project and I have tons of great shit going on - just no band. I am seriously desperate and will consider marriage and bearing first born children with the right people. :D Ok... enough silliness -- get back to me. Go listen to my old crappy songs, feel sorry for me, rescue this damsel in distress and come be part of what is already turning into a cool project, everything is going great so far - other than the fact that I need a great band ASAP to be able to make it all happen the way I want, and can't seem to find the right mix of people. I have found a million gadzillion people to play everything BUT rhythm guitar/creative genius, etc. etc. so I'm still looking for that. If you know of anyone at all - please send them my way. They don't have to worry about business stuff, they'll be well treated - they can just come out and create and have fun, play shows, etc. :D I don't care what age, what they look like or anything like that, as long as they are excellent. The rest of the players in the band are high calibre, experienced people who are nice too. Many hugs to all of you who read this, and who've sent me lots of good wishes.
