Message Board > Seeking Musicians > NEED PLAYERS FOR FUNKY COVER GROUP |
Rich User Info... | I'm looking for players who are interested in establishing a group which covers funky tunes drawing from hip-hop, acid jazz, rock, funk(of course), blues. My goal with a group like this would be to practice and nail down 20-30 cover tunes in order to play some shows by the springtime. After that goal has been achieved we could move into some original material. I play the drums, guitar, bass and do some vocals. I'm mostly interested in playing the bass or guitar in this project but I am pretty flexible because I love playing all of them. I'm looking for musicians around my age ( mid to late twenties ) who have some experience playing in groups or live situations, people who are open-minded and are willing to dedicate a good chunk of time and energy into it in order for the group to succeed. I want to make this at least a part-time job for myself. Some of my influences are ( in no particular order) : Hendrix ( especially Band of Gypsies period), Doors, Radiohead, Cream, Incubus, Coldplay, Kanye West, Outkast, Cake, Black Eyed Peas, Jurassic 5, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Roots, Rage Against the Machine, The Beatles, The Police...........the list goes on and on!!!!!! - Wed, 24 Nov 2004 6:21pm

nick User Info... | Ok well, hey... I've got this band called the Filmores (named after the filmore east because of Band of Gypsies and Miles Davis). We're trying to create a sound somewhere between the Beatles, the Who, and BOG. I'm 18 and play guitar and sing, and we have a drummer. and I just quit my job to further facilitate music. interested perhaps? - Fri, 26 Nov 2004 6:21pm
