| CurtisD User Info... | A couple months ago, I was at Parklands gynmasium for a show by Jacob's Fall. There were also several other bands playing. There were 2 main stages so that bands could set up and take down on the other stage as a band played. Does anyone know what steps need to be taken to organize something like this? Have any bands participated in something like this who would like to do it again? We (Kilamanca) are willing to open for a headlining band, or get several acts together to open for a headliner (if you are already an established act). | wanless User Info... | Theres a problem with doing shows like this, either you have two decents PAs one for each stage or one good one and one weak one. If you do the weak one bands won't like it if they play on the weak PA. If it is only like 4 bands it would be better to go with just one stage. - Tue, 22 Mar 2005 6:00pm | ||
| Peter Gardner User Info... | Hey. I was one of the people that helped organize this. One of the reasons it went so smoothley, was because it was a benfit. All proceeds went towards War Child Canada, so none of the bands were played, and we worked out a really great deal with the sound guys for the show. Trust me, it wasnt all that easy getting the school administration to ok it, especially to the public. Because we go to the school though, we did have that oppertunity. I think it would be WAY harder for a group of bands that dont go to that school, to get the ok on it. Also, one thing I'd like to add. The reason we HAD two stages, was because the whole thing was called "Keep The Beat". The point of the event is to 'Keep a Beat' going for how many odd hours. Through out the day at school, we had people playing bongo drums, constantly keeping a beat going. We set up the two stages, to, keep the beat. - Wed, 23 Mar 2005 11:28am | ||
