Matteus User Info... | http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/2833889&category=restaurant-waiter I thought this was a joke. they really expect to pay this much.... - Sun, 8 Apr 2007 11:55pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Well yeah, the position is for management, no wonder they don't pay minimum wage. And it's WAY MORE simpler then they say it is. - Mon, 9 Apr 2007 12:35am
Nik Olaz User Info... | ...yeah wow real earth shattering to do all those things as a restaurant manager... - Mon, 9 Apr 2007 2:17am
XY-WITHCHIPS User Info... | That's pretty low for a manager that you expect to speak English and Spanish.. ?! Plus take on duties of a manager with a experienced culinary and management skills for 35 hour a week. Meh. Their looking for that young person to exploit, like bosses of just over 15 years ago. You take care of all aspects of my established restaurant and I'll be your boss and live off you for $17 a hour, whilst building my new home or pissing my time away when times are good. I’m sorry that’s just old rip off employers thinking/tactics of yesteryear . It’s not what can you do for me anymore? It’s here’s what I can do for you now ? I’m hoping that these folks are just miss informed and maybe a little bit unrealistic. All you’ll get at a low wage like that in this economy is a below average employ, most likely addicted and not real management material . And soon your restaurant will start going down hill, and then when the bust in the economy will happens ( and it will), you’ll be screwed . Welcome to the boomtown, Ms. Cristina drives a nine four four Satisfaction oozes from her pores She keeps rings on her fingers Marble on her floor Cocaine on her dresser Bars on her doors She keeps her back against the wall She keeps her back against the wall So I say I say welcome, welcome to the boomtown Pick a habit We got plenty to go around Welcome, welcome to the boomtown All that money makes such a succulent sound Welcome to the boomtown Handsome Kevin got a little off track Took a year off of college And he never went back Now he smokes too much He's got a permanent hack Deals dope out of Denny's Keeps a table in the back He always listens to the ground Always listens to the ground So I say I say welcome, welcome to the boomtown Pick a habit We got plenty to go around Welcome, welcome to the boomtown All that money makes such a succulent sound Welcome to the boomtown Well the ambulance arrived too late I guess she didn't want to wait. SOooo… Bring new employees in like family and pay them a good freakin wages expecting good work. You treat your employs good and offer extremely good benefits, you’ll get the cream of the crop trust me! And they WILL stay! J Damn simple, don‘tchah think? RANT/ over. - Mon, 9 Apr 2007 9:11pm Edited: Mon, 9 Apr 2007 9:14pm
Matteus User Info... | Case in point. Thanks XY. You're right XY, the bi-lingual is a kicker. Then 6-9 years AS a manager? If you're working in vic with that much experience, you must really love the place. You're responsible for the building, equipment, staff and potential lawsuits. You are the face they are going to see all the time, you are the reason that people will come back for. AND when shit hits the fan, who's left eatting it? You are accountable for all staff members and their actions... so there will be big ol' shit pies to eat at times. Oh yeah, and when you're a manager, you have no life... thats that: "Must be available weekdays, weekends and nights" - Mon, 9 Apr 2007 10:09pm
lonemonk User Info... | They're going to rotate way more than a few people through that position before they lower their expectations or change the wage. I wouldn't do the job for twice that, but thats just me. - Fri, 13 Apr 2007 4:30pm
dumpstermesh User Info... | Ya I think I'll keep my serving job where I go home with more than $17/hr for less stress. I'm lucky that I get medical/dental benefits too. Notice that the manager posting didn't mention any benefits? Good luck finding someone with all those qualifications willing to do the job for that rate! - Sun, 15 Apr 2007 2:57pm
dumpstermesh User Info... | HAHA!! I just looked at the rest of the listings on USEDVICTORIA jobs just for kicks and noticed that the same restaurant is looking for a cook (immediately) to start for $9/hr. Sounds like a great place to work eh? They need a manager and a cook RIGHT NOW! Yeessh. - Sun, 15 Apr 2007 3:03pm
