Nik Olaz User Info... | http://www.tenthdimension.com/flash2.php Really interesting stuff!! - Mon, 30 Oct 2006 11:34pm
Platoon User Info... | Indeed, I find Dr. Michio Kaku's work on this very interesting. He is a co founder of string theory. I have listened to more than a few of his lectures and interviews. He has a few books on my to buy list. It really is astounding how many people cannot grasp that time is considered the fourth dimension in phsyics, let alone that there are up to eleven in total. - Wed, 8 Nov 2006 4:45pm
Nik Olaz User Info... | It's weird but I'm glad this site totally wrapped it up neatly. If only I were more math minded, i'd love to learn more about string theory...but uhhh yeah math is NOT my thing. - Thu, 9 Nov 2006 9:19pm
Platoon User Info... | No, hahah, me either. I fucking love learning about the theory though. I can grasp the basics of the mathematics, but that is about it. To think that there are eleven dimensions is completely insane, even revolutionary. Just think back to a time when people thought the Earth was flat. Makes you wonder if we have come a long way. I know there is some experiment being conducted or proposed that will more or less reinforce string theory with physical evidence. I heard, from Kaku, that there is some sort of light collecting device, some sort of infrared space borne telescope similar to Hubble in principle, that could be able to collect light from so far away that we could essentially see the 'edges' of the expanding universe. And by taking that data, physicists could basically reconstruct what the big bang looked like in the beginning stages by essentially shrinking the universe. - Fri, 10 Nov 2006 12:13am

stew User Info... | you guys have probably already seen this, but The Elegant Universe is a good watch. Does a great job illustrating how important Einstein's special theory of relativity contributed to string theory. - Fri, 10 Nov 2006 11:54am Edited: Fri, 10 Nov 2006 11:58am
duncan User Info... | Now forgive me because the almost all of the details escape me buttt... somewhere in europe they are building this huge chamber in which they are going to fire particles at each other or something.. and it is theorized that it will create a slight "tear" in the dimensions that we know and prove that other dimensions exist. Like I said.. I can't remember one detail about it. - Fri, 10 Nov 2006 3:23pm
lonemonk User Info... | Its thought that any of the existing particle excelerators could potentially do this. The tear might be infinitesemly small, but it still doesn't sound so good does it? The one you are talking about is CERN I think. I was talking to a couple of german guys at a security conference in Van last year. They were IT guys for that project. When the collision happens and the computers collect the data, they need storage that can save approx 4 Terabytes (4000 GB) of data every second. It then takes months/years to comb through the data looking for the 'results' of the experiment. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_Hadron_Collider Who knows? Maybe this is exactly how humans were meant to destroy themselves.... - Fri, 10 Nov 2006 5:17pm

We are an open, community-owned platform to help artists and arts organizations reach their audiences and each other.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
For online / livestream events. This will allow you to include a livestream url and have it featured in our livestream listings.
