In my opinion I dont want them here because our city doesn't need the filth brought in by these shit-hole-shanty-shacks. They should not infringe on the comfort or well being of anyone else. They should be kept to strict standards of sanitation. They should be upkept and maintained by the people who live there. They should be separated into drug addled and mentally ill colonies and other colonies for families and people who aren't fucked up. | JDL User Info... | heh i wish i could support the reasonings you have for the tent cities but we all know it would turn to shit because of the bad face that some of the homeless get due to drug addicts etc...(mentally ill persons shouldn't be mixed in the same bag but there's always exceptions to the rule). I think having a "tent city" to the likes of DAJ wouldn't even abide by any of those pseudo rules; I think what DAJ wants isnt remotely close to those guidelines heh. | Mr. Hell User Info... | You're right about the mentally ill. They should have beds in facilities. Unfortunately that is unlikely to always happen. My uncle is delusional and is now living in the Gorge park. People have tried to help him, but he has the ability to appear somewhat sane when confronted by health authorities. He chooses not to take on treatment and lives out of a shopping cart. He won't let his family help either. Sad situation. Maybe the addicts should just be offered treatment and if they refuse, straight onto the barge. | Aidan Logins User Info... | Why doesn't DAJ just go live in a hermitage? There are plenty (well a few) places where he could go and just be. Not work, not pay taxes... And these places are supported by donations and people support them because they're not gross stink-pits in the middle of the cities. Peatman User Info... | I'm still in favor of the plan to barge them off to the old Leper colony (the step from scabs and sores to actual breaking down of skin tissue is not that big), and hope that there's still some old cultures thriving. Oh and call in the occasional airstrike with phosphorous bombs. If society/democracy/the Crown is really such a pain to DAJ and his flock, then I really don't see why "the people" could not return those same sentiments, and act accordingly. Housing is quite expensive here and the line ups of people looking to rent even the shittiest houses are at least 30 people long.
