Well they lit their building on fire. Across the street from me. The whole neighborhood smells like burnt plastic. I feel sorry for the normal people that live over there.

Cudos to the fire dept.
I thought the whole building was going to go up, but the firemen contained it and got it out.
Good job! - Thu, 11 Oct 2007 1:20am

Sounds like they were manufacturing meth. It's a crime that should be punishable by life imprisonment. They're the worst kind of junkie. Always way too pissed off or way too happy and always thinking that the world owes them. - Thu, 11 Oct 2007 1:25am

The fire and rescue were there just last week because one of the junkies "fell" from that same suite that caught on fire. Four story fall onto rocks below.
It's amazing the fire dept got this one under control. The flames from the top floor lit up the sky. I really feel sorry for all the normal tenants over there. - Thu, 11 Oct 2007 2:11am

Was this in Vic West by any chance and what kept me up half the frikking night? Was there lots of cops and barking for the junkie falling as well because I was up all night from the cops a few weeks ago as well. - Thu, 11 Oct 2007 9:14pm

Yes and yes.
It's mildly entertaining until they drive a stolen truck into your house. - Thu, 11 Oct 2007 11:49pm

Perhaps you should consider moving. Living out in "butt-fuck-no-where", as my friend fondly calls my neighbourhood (Happy Valley/Langford/Metchosin) has its benefits. The only thing that has come into my house uninvited in the last year are miniature frogs, night-time flying bugs with the exception of mosquitos, and a beautiful black cat I named Gabriel once he decided that I was his. The deer eat my roses and geraniums and besides that the only other negative is driving home from downtown at rush hour. I would like to say that living in the western communities sucks ass big time just to discourage more people from moving out this way but that would be a big fat lie. So if you can't move the mountain.......... - Fri, 12 Oct 2007 4:36am

Well then we must be neighbours Trevor. Its not so entertaining when it seems to happen every week and I have to be up at 430am. grrr. Stupid junkies. I have seen them trying to break into cars outside my house and found needles in my yard. - Fri, 12 Oct 2007 6:31am

Speaking to Danielle's response about considering moving, perhaps to the middle of butt-fuck nowhere, while that is an option it's a goddamn shame but something my wife and I are considering as well. We live in a neighbourhood (Central Park area) where the junkies seem to be slowly increasing in numbers as Fernwood and downtown "clean-up" and they move elsewhere.

While I appreciate Trevor's candor over the Fucking Junkie series, I hope that he does not have to report more.

Thanks for the invite Danielle, but I'm married. I'm totally flattered though.

I'm not getting chased out of here by those scrawny losers. This is a great nieghborhood, and I have a fantastic piece of property, almost downtown yet seperated by a coupla bridges. The value of this land has gone up ten times since I moved here and will only climb as me and my non-junkie neighbors improve and develop. - Fri, 12 Oct 2007 3:29pm Edited: Fri, 12 Oct 2007 3:29pm

.....just to add. I actually feel safer in town than out of town. When anything does go down the rats all scurry away and a large crowd of decent people appear. Emergency response is always less than three minutes. I'd be there for my nieghbors too. - Fri, 12 Oct 2007 3:39pm

Glad to see your ego is alive and well....
If you like your neigbourhood so much then I guess you have to take the bad with the good. I was a city dweller all my life until moving out to Langford which I didn't even know how to get to until moving here. At first I hated it. I decided to give it 2 years. That was 10 1/2 years ago. I would never move back into town now. - Thu, 18 Oct 2007 2:32am
