People are posting their favorite restaurants in the "Worst Restaurants in Victoria" thread. So here, lets put them where they belong.
I like Vista 18 for casual dining and Tuesday two for one tapas, live jazz nights Friday and Saturday . Unbeatable views, service and food quality.

edit; They even have real towels in the washrooms! Free parking if you ask at the front desk. - Tue, 6 Mar 2007 2:51pm Edited: Tue, 6 Mar 2007 3:08pm

i like most places i go to, tho some that stick out: rathskeller, azuma, flyods(mostly cuz my fiancee works there), swans(good brunch, but rather slow if its busy), little thai place, mee wah's chinese(oak bay ave.... highly recommended) - Wed, 7 Mar 2007 4:47pm

Only thing I've had on Mole's menu was the Mac & Cheese. Better half has pretty much eaten everything on the menu with no complaints. They do make the best damn Mac & Cheese in town though. Haven't been back since they re-opened, hopefully the food quality remained high. - Thu, 8 Mar 2007 8:56pm

I second Rathskellers- get the 'Rathskeller Plate'. For $20.00 it's got some real value: two schnitzels, spetzel, bratwurst, sauerkraut, etc. If you're a carnivore you should try 'Smoken Bones' in Langford. For the budget minded, the buffet at Sabri is great. I think the burger at the Fernwood is the best burger in town. - Sat, 10 Mar 2007 5:55pm

B.C. Ferries-All you can eat buffet
Breakfast, lunch or dinner you can't go wrong. They have everything anyone could want. Meats, seafood, vegetarian. Fresh fruits and cheese or sugary deserts. All for a very reasonable price. If you get in early you can get a window seat and spend the whole trip eating and enjoying the best scenery money can't buy.
Smoke one before you get on the ferry and feast for one hour and forty five minutes. - Sat, 10 Mar 2007 11:55pm Edited: Sat, 10 Mar 2007 11:55pm

Had dinner at Casa Tequila tonight. Tom Ferris decided to be a dinky and refuse me a reservation for nine. So we went across the street and I'm glad we did.
I am generally lukewarm to Mexican food because Cafe Mexico has continually averaged and less the hell out of my taste buds.
We started with complimentary empinadas with some pickled pepper antipasto type dip. Really effing good.
Then we all shared a plate of their regular nachos. Hands down the best nachos I've ever had. Better than Red Robin's back in their heyday. They also have Bomba and Blanco which is the works and extra cheese respectively. Words can't even do it justice. Go and have them.
Then I had steak and avacado tacos. Overall it was delicious but I found there was too much cilantro. I like cilantro, but it was overpowering everything else in the dish including the refried beans, which contained no cilantro that I could see. Next time I'll ask them to put it on the side.
Bottomless pop and Dos Equis lager and margaritas all around.
High 5 chocolate cake for dessert. A few of us shared. Best chocolate cake I've had.
Casa Tequila is now the only place I will go for Mexican food in Victoria. - Thu, 20 Dec 2007 11:46pm Edited: Sun, 23 Dec 2007 4:00pm

Went to Chikara Sushi today with Bram.
The sushi was all good and fresh and tasty. The oysters looked very delicious. The prices were average overpriced for Victoria, but not extreme.
We each asked for a bowl of rice with steak sauce and they forgot them. After being reminded, they brought out two bowls of rice with teriyaki sauce. No steak sauce to be found in the whole place. What kind of "Japanese" place is this?
The service was slow and mildly retarded.

We tried asking for every type of sauce we could think of that might be considered the "proper" steak sauce. The problem was the mild retardation of the front end employees.
