So I was sitting on the bus today and a couple of guys sitting near me started talking about how time is infinite when you're sitting on the bus doing nothing then the one guy was like well time doesn't really matter, this is pretty much our last calender year. then the other guy was like, naw it was probably last year. so i thought i had an idea of what they were talking about but I asked what they meant by that anyway, and they were like well we're running out of time society's gonna crumble and Mother Nature will force her return. Now I agree with that, i've always felt that way, but it dawned on me today, that amidst all these natural disasters especially recently, and the icecaps melting, ya Atlantis, baby. the whole fuckin world. and the time is near. get it through your fucking head. if we don't stop consuming and killing, actually you know what it's too fuking late. and we'll be lucky if we have the chance to start over again. Honestly, if I was the Earth I'd say fuck you bitch, I had so much patience and you just kept taking and taking and taking i've warned you so many times but you just turn a blind eye and make it into a fucking tv comercial and pretend you can go on with your day. and what about those who care, who tried to strangle their hypocritical ways every chance they got? Well, ya, they're going down too. and the pure children who never had a chance to make things better but maybe would've with proper care and awareness. so anyway, I"m getting mad becasue i'm getting scared that i'm bringing a child into this world just to watch it die.
oh whoops dint meran to put this here im not good at controversy. - Mon, 2 Jan 2006 10:58pm

The earths been here for over 4 billion give or take a millennium and it'll be here for another few million years . Doom and gloom talk is for people who have given up or have never got started in their lives in the first place . When you have a kid all that esoteric BS goes the window and you get back to the real things in lifeā€¦..responsibilities and family .
Congrats on the new baby coming ! - Tue, 3 Jan 2006 12:52am

At the risk of sounding cliche...life is what you make it. The island could sink tomorow, or even more likely, you could get hit by a bus crossing the street. You can waste your energy tearing every hair out of your head worrying about it, or you can just say fuck it and really LIVE your life and hope for the best cuz shit happens and if you don't take chances you'll never know how good life can be. And the second your baby is born you'll see the world differently for the rest of your life. Good luck! - Tue, 3 Jan 2006 10:04am

The island won't sink unless there is a huge earthquake that shifts the fault so much that something extremely bizzar happens.
But, what is going to happen to the world isn't going to affect the people of the less densly populated areas, and especially on an island, unless there is a world wide outbreak of the avian flu.
There is going to be a massive plague, a viral infection that will wipe out majorly dense areas such as india, china, japan, new york and the east coast, LA, great britain and so on. The only preditor that humans have in the natural life cycle is mother nature, and humans have proven that we can't live in a world where we are on top. All along the way mother nature has created things to help kill off humans to control numbers, whether it be cancer, influenza, small pocs, and the bubonic plague. The only real virus or infection that has had a major impact on humans so far is the bubonic plague, or the black death. Everything else that mother nature has thrown at us we've counter attacked with a remidy, or medicinal treatment to stay alive, which is the wrong thing to do because this creates over population.
So to wrap it up, about 80% of the human race is going to be decimated by a plague which will be passed on because humans live to closely to each other to be able to be control it. The only thing is it could happen today, tomorrow or 100 years from now. - Tue, 3 Jan 2006 1:18pm

OR...you could trip over your X-Files box set in your tissue box shoes and one of the antenas on the top of your tinfoil hat could peirce through your eye STRAAAIGHT into your brain killing you instantly...

I personally chose to run with scissors in platform shoes across the street WITHOUT looking first because I'm too busy talking on the cellphone that will eventually fill my head with tumors while I drink a cup of tap water, yeah TAP WATER.

Because we only get to do this once. - Tue, 3 Jan 2006 3:15pm

You know what's funny......... every single generation since pretty much the beginning of time has been positive that they are going to witness the end of time, pretty self indulgent if you ask me. - Tue, 3 Jan 2006 4:52pm

Think of it though jay. We all are going to die someday, or did you not know that yet????

And if everyone went at the same time who cares it would be one huge ceremony.
Death doesn't scare me, death intrigues me. It's finding out what actually happens, the answer to one question that will forever be unexplainable to mankind.
Now if you are afraid of death that sucks cause you'll be living in fear for the rest of your life, not knowing when you'll go, is it today, is it tomorrow. Then for the handicapped kid like myself i don't really care, if i die, i die and im dead so who cares, well besides the people that love me - Wed, 4 Jan 2006 11:53am

i'm with jay. wanless' posts are hilariously unintelligent.

dear wanless: i heard they are making a new indiana jones, you should write the script. "its finding out what actually happens, the answer to one question that will forever be unexplainable to mankind". that is straight out of that asian guys mouth in the temple of doom, i swear mr. jones. - Wed, 4 Jan 2006 12:53pm

Ahh, Dr jones to you.
And also i might say that The indiana jones movies are money. However, I would never write a new one because then it would turn into the next metallica, star wars, and all the major iconic figures that overstayed their welcome and only made a bad name for the good that they prooved they once were.

Oh and might i ask, what is so unintelligent about overcoming an element of life that most of the population fears? Wouldn't that make me somewhat more superior to you all who fear death? - Wed, 4 Jan 2006 2:21pm

Riiight. I'm willing to bet if you were about to die you'd change your opinion- and your shorts- real quick, kid.

Meybe one day you'll be faced with the possibility of an untimely death. Or meybe you'll have to sit back and watch your loved ones die. I'm pretty sure that will suck the glamour out of it real quick. - Wed, 4 Jan 2006 3:57pm

Oh I never said I feared death, hell I have had to sit there and have my doctor tell me to get my things in order cause I was probably going to die from cancer... makes ya stop and think for a bit. I wasnt scared so much as pissed I hadnt done a lot of the cool stuff I wanted to. having had cancer twice now I am willing to bet I am in fact more aware than most that we are going to die someday. I agree death intrigues me as well, but it doesnt make me want to get there any quicker. that whole live fast die young thing stopped being cool when I stopped being young. Now I just want to live to be about a hundred years old so I can tell all my great grand kids about walking fifty miles in sub zero weather and twelve feet of snow to milk the cows at four in the morning. - Wed, 4 Jan 2006 8:04pm

Of course i would be upset if i watched my loved ones die, and i would be very upset if i found out that i was going to die from a disease. But im not afraid of it, i have accepted it as a part of life. I don't want to get there any faster than the rest of the sane people on earth.

Oh and the whole "I think it would be cool to see the end of the world, who really cares if you die, so will everyone else"
What i meant by that is you get to see the end of human civilization. Hell i would stop a plague if i could, i would stop what ever if i had the power to. But I don't, so if the end of the world comes while I'm still around i'll look at it as i was one of the people who fucked this planet up so bad and we got fucked in the ass because of it. Then i would take a slam of whiskey and party my ass off. - Wed, 4 Jan 2006 10:00pm

I had cancer twice myself jay, mind if I ask what kind?
And as for death, yeah the cancer thing has made me deal with it, and I won't regret not having done enough I think, or worry about whether or not anybody really would care when I die. Thats the thing about cancer, everyone tells you how much you really are appreciated...kinda awful, kinda good. - Sat, 21 Jan 2006 8:17pm
