Hey got my tickets today and the price is $49.50 for the lower balcony, not the $37.50 advertised by Georgia Straight. I don't care about the money, never in my life did I think I would be able to see Thin Lizzy. (So what if it's only 2 of 4 original members). Deep Purple is sporting 3 of 5. Steve Morse and Don Airey are no slouches so it should be a good time at the Orpheum. - Fri, 19 Dec 2003 3:25pm

Wow. Talk about yer archeology. So two whole members of TL (not counting the only one that matters whose dead) and three members of DP (who could they be? Ian Paice? Jon Lord? Rod Evans? Not Tommy Bolin coz he's dead too) equals a rock experience that you would pay about $50 a ticket for. And all of them pushing 60! Talk about living in the past! P.S. Who the hell is Don Airey? - Fri, 19 Dec 2003 10:00pm

Bullshit. I saw Purple ( and Lizzy for that matter ) headline the 3 day long Alberta CLassic Rock Fest a few years back. 30 000 people and Deep Purple, huge outside stage, and let me tell you , Deep Purple with Steve Morse on guitar put on one of the best live shows Ive ever seen. Washed up they are NOT.

Morse is a much better guitarist then Blackmore I think, and besides, they are close friends so its pretty good. Evidently Gillan and Blackmore cant tour together.

Lord was there, but apparently now he has hip problems and cant stand that long.

Purple's latest release is rumored to be very good. - Sat, 20 Dec 2003 8:39am

I've had the new Deep Purple CD for a few months now (Bananas), it's a really good album, but what I found ironic is DP was touring in Europe with Sepultura?!? - Sat, 20 Dec 2003 8:13pm

Morse might be a "better" guitarist than Blackmore technically. But Morse lacks Blackmore's ability to play with his gut, which trumps technical know-how any day of the week.
Morse is talented, but he homogenizes Deep Purple like Island Farms does to the cow juice.
And no Lord being present really makes it unfortunate.
On that note, enjoy the show Rob! - Sun, 21 Dec 2003 7:22pm

Deep purple are better at this point in their careers where they could jam out for 2 hours and the crowd would be appreciative. But yeah, if it's any indication of the new maerial they released, wow would be awesome to see them live, regardless of whoever played. - Tue, 23 Dec 2003 1:07am
