| Matteus User Info... | first off, good demo. second, i dont lie and i'm an asshole what are you using to record the bass guitar? actually, what are you using to record all together? I find that the bass is really "boomy" esp. in "music religion" Now if you used a DI, then that SHOULD be a really clean signal. If you used a mic, could explain the boominess. What might help is clipping off the REALLY LOW hertz on the bass, like maybe cut 12-30hz OUT, then a soft curve up to 80hz which is at 100%. Another thing you can do is use a multi band compressor on the bass. I use Cubase sx3 and there's a preset in its multiband compressor (MBC) that is awesome for bass. real clean and crisp. actually i find the MBC to be good for everything but if you do use it on everything, then it starts to sound really artificial. you're a punk band (right) ? ;) the snare needs to be louder. "there's nothing we" sounds muddy over all. could use some clarity. feel free to ask me anything or tell me to get screwed. put "left or right" into cubase and there was all sorts of clipping that can lead to distortion. - Fri, 18 May 2007 5:53pm Edited: Fri, 18 May 2007 6:16pm | ||
