Rock is currently in talks with galleries in Dublin to how these fascinating document's of the Irish rockers life for the first time. "I've got a ton of these photos that haven't been seen by anyone, they stem right through the 70s. Phil like everyone was complicated but he was a lot of fun. He looked amazing with the Hendrix thing, but he was taller with longer legs; He was more dynamic and charismatic ." More than 20 years after his death the legacy of Phil Lynott continues to captivate. While rock'n'roll may be a career choice today. Lynott was and remains the real deal. The fervent Irishman was one of the country's most songwriters and musicians. The son of an Irish Catholic mother and black braziliian father, Phil Sufferred inevitable Racial problems growing up as mixed race yout in the 1950s and 60s Dublin. He'd often get lost in the world of the Wild West; one expalanation for the heroic and romantic perspective that fed Thin Lizzy last-gang-town image. Lynott enjoyed playing up to his street-tough-reputation during Rock's shots but the snapper believes it was all rock' n' roll license. "Ive got some great pictures of the band having a knife fight: they were never published because the record company freaked out. It was the classic line up with Phil, Scott Gorham who carrying a chain and Brian Roberstson. "You had to be careful with Phil he'd tell you anything." smiles Rock He always claimed to be very wild and wicked, and that he had been in a gang as a kid Dublin. He told me he got into a knife fight and cut some guy so badhe ended up in hospital. Footnote Larry There is a lot of records by Lynott that bring great pain during relationships breakups but also relief perhaps when I am drunk. I loved Thin Lizzy and I saw them during their renegade tour in dundee. You not also loved Thin Lizzy you lived their music. Larry - Sun, 16 Jul 2006 1:56pm | ||
