| NOISE NOT BOMBS User Info... |  Recently a friend of food not bombs contacted me interested in planning a Food Not Bombs benefit to buy new bike carts for the Victoria FNB collective. What he had in mind was a simple benefit show with some hip hop and perhaps punk bands too. I suggested that rather than just a show we do an Anarchist book fair of sorts, with speakers, films, slideshows, presentations, workshops, and so on, a sort of a small free school. He liked the idea, so we began to plan. We decided to set the event for early to mid September, both to give us time to plan, and promote, as well as because it worked well for both our schedules. As of right now this is not a Food Not Bombs event, and Food Not Bombs is not directly involved with organizing, rather it is an separate independent event, with all proceeds earmarked to be donated to Food Not Bombs Victoria. The event would be a two day gathering with Hip Hop bands one one day, and Punk and/or metal bands th other day, as well as workshops and films on both days. What we are looking for is: a) Any persons or groups interested in presenting, showing a film or slide show, hosting a workshop, or speech, or power point presentation. b) Donated space in the down town or Fernwood areas able to hold at least 100 people for the event or financial help to secure a venue for the event. c) Donations (on lend) of sound equipment, microphones, film projectors, screens, DVD and/or VHS equipment. d) People to host tables, sell zines, books, films, or other forms of distros e) Use of a printer to posters, we would like to use reclaimed paper as much as possible, and thus need some where to print or photocopy it. f) Contacts that may be interested and help with promotion of the event. g) Volunteers, both for postering, as well as set up, clean up, security, and to work door, tables or what ever else may be needed. h) Bands interested in playing, preferably anarchist bands, of crust, hip hop, grind, metal, or possibly folk. i) Any other ideas, inspiration, help of any kind that you can offer.
