Victoria Jazz Society User Info... | JAZZFEST INTERNATIONAL 06 STUDENT WORKSHOP/CLINICS The Victoria Jazz Society is committed to the development of jazz in our community. The VJS’s Outreach Program during JazzFest International 2006, presented by TD Canada Trust includes facilitating Workshop/Clinics, which present a unique opportunity for students to improve their skills and gain valuable knowledge and inspiration from some of the world’s finest performing jazz artists. "TD is committed to the future of our communities and our children”, said Suzanne Poole, Senior Vice President, Pacific Region, TD Canada Trust. "The festival workshops help educate children with the hands-on skills they need while also showing them how to appreciate the art and nurture their love of music." Saturday, June 24: Piano workshop with Kenny Werner @ Metro Studio (3-4:15pm) Monday, June 26: (Jazz) Guitar workshop with Mike Stern @ Metro Studio (3-4:15pm) Tuesday, June 27: (Standup) Bass workshop with Michel Donato @ Metro Studio (3-4:15pm) Thursday, June 29: Jazz Ensemble workshop with Roberto Occhipinti @ Metro Studio (3-4:15pm) Thursday, June 29: Latin Rythms workshop with Cuba's Maraca @ Long and Mcquade Clinic Room (3-4:15pm) To register for these workshops, phone the Victoria Jazz Society (JazzFest) office at (250) 388-4423. The Kenny Werner, Mike Stern, Michele Donato and Roberto Occhipinti workshops will be conducted in the Metro Studio, 1411 Quadra at Johnson.
