Does anyone remember a band who use to compile noise and release them as tapes?!? I wish I could remember the band name (there similar to Smoked Out Brainzzz cept they did more of a Current 93/Coil/Zoviet France soundscape, I remember seeing a few of there tapes (they released tons) but I cannot remember the name of the band. Any help appreciated.

Currently I'm looking for: Adhesive Tape-Demo 90 (Tim Flowers is looking for this), Any Red Tide (other then "Demo 83: The Trials of Gee" and "Final Solution"), Beige Froth, Boozehounds (*RIP* Bubba), Bury What's Dead, Drone, Fracas-Quiet Please, Intervention, Jaundice Penguin, Lord Horizontal-Hope For Small Men, MasterRace, Mexican Power Authority, Moral Decay, Motorhome, Noise Generation, Pacific Frontal System, Pigment Vehicle-"Let the Squids Fly Freely", Sensory Crossover, Shutdown-"IN there", Sludge Confrontations, Son of Sam, Suburban Menace (do they have just the one demo out?!? *RIP* Ken Jensen), Terrace, Plexus, The Ryvals-20,000 Tambourines, The Wardells, Thumbscrew, We Don't Do Much (I'm REALLY looking for this demo, *RIP* Chris Buck).

BTW: Rather then posting it here, if anyone wants a copy of which demos I have already, E-Mail me. VDRP, rehashing those demos that it seems a shame to forget about... - Sat, 4 Mar 2006 10:57am Edited: Sat, 4 Mar 2006 11:11am

Why yes, that what {V}ictoria {D}emo {R}estoration {P}rojekt has been doing for over 7 years. I was wondering when someone was gonna ask me that, cause the Program Directors haven't called me back yet. Hope the music sounds decent. - Sat, 4 Mar 2006 8:34pm Edited: Sat, 4 Mar 2006 8:37pm

they are really good! I already had the hudson mack / ak47 split and the self inflicted demo but everything will get heavy play on my show for the next 3 months. I love local music, canadian music, and filling up my chart release content with good music.

some suggestions for next time; numbering the tracks as they correspond to the cd-rs... it's tricky to have 10 seconds to flip on a song and have to figure it out by going "one..two...three..". I mean yeah that is stupid of me to suggest, I could be better prepared or do it myself, it's just a convenience.

also one of the things that's in the chart release library is a dvd-r with data, not an audio cd-r. I think the music director fucked up by putting it in the music library since it can't be played by our cd players. off the computer, yeah, but the chart release library is supposed to consist of only audio cds. but I will be burning myself a copy of it anyway just because it is a valuable resource.

anyway enough nitpicking, it's really useful, the victoria music scene owes you a lot for the work you've done

do you have a site for all this? a list of all the demos you've restored or anything? - Sat, 4 Mar 2006 9:34pm

Nice to see someone's playing them, and they're not gathering dust. :) The CD-R's are audio, not data, so... how else should I list off the tracks?!? Which is better for you guys (and gals)?!? Your program director (the dude) well, he was happy for me to supply the music, but he's never contacted me about it since, go figure! (same with that cutie Rachelle, and I'm supposed to submit 2 more audio CDs) Yes, that DVD-R has all the albums requested, but in MP3 format. I would of submitted the albums in audio format but well, CFUV never even compensated me for those CDs/DVDs and well, I'm disabled now so I don't make as much money, he told me that he would get students to convert the data to audio cause they had the equipment to do it. I sorta have a site, but E-Mail me and I'll shoot ya a list. I have a myspace site up (http://www.myspace.com/vdrp) but I need to make a modification so that I can put the list up there for people to view. That data CD has the uber-rare Infamous Scientists - Trouble EP on it actually. I think the data came out to 1.2 gigs, personally I've collected close to 16.3 gigs of local music actually. Keep in touch (if it wasn't for you, I would of never heard from the station, I appreciate the thanx!!!)

for listing off the tracks I just meant numbering each song with the corrseponding track number.. on the written liner notes you provide.. like

Some Band - Whatever their release was
1. 01 - Whatever their first song was
2. 02 - Whatever their second song was
Some Other Band - Some other release
3. 01 - Whatever their first song was
4. 02 - Whatever their second wong was
...etc

giving really easy access to the corresponding track number on your audio cd, as well as the original track number of the release

I think cfuv's issue with not being able to compensate you is because they can't afford to do anything that loses them money. the little money they do get are spent on equipment fixing and such.

converting the data to audio would be really easy, I just think he accidently stuck it in the chart release library on its own.. I'll take it up with him - Sat, 4 Mar 2006 10:49pm

Yes, it actually occured to me that I never did ask them for any money or anything really. I don't know why I posted that. Yes, it happens, as I'm sure your program director is busy with other things. I wish my printer was working, cause I would of done cleaner cases. I have the templates (in Werd format) which I used when I had a working printer. It's pretty easy to design cases for them. - Sat, 4 Mar 2006 11:45pm Edited: Sat, 4 Mar 2006 11:48pm
