_Griphin_ User Info... | Ok, why do people hate this band?!? - Tue, 17 Jan 2006 8:12pm
mica User Info... | I don't hate them. I think they're good songwriters. However, I don't understand why someone would want to torture their own nuts with such tight pants - if you sit down the wrong way with pants like that, you're going get the ache - big time. - Tue, 17 Jan 2006 8:32pm
wanless User Info... | I don't mind their older stuff. But their new stuff is just radio crap. Its really no better than all the other pop bands - Tue, 17 Jan 2006 9:41pm
Tyler User Info... | " if you sit down the wrong way with pants like that, you're going get the ache - big time" - not true! "I don't mind their older stuff. But their new stuff is just radio crap. Its really no better than all the other pop bands" - very true. I LOVE the stuff from scenes one through thirteen, and pretty much dislike everything after. - Tue, 17 Jan 2006 10:23pm
Mi*coll* User Info... | 50% new members, completely different sound-- It's pretty much two different bands, really. Personally, I prefer "Make Up the Breakdown" to "Scenes One through Thirteen", but "Elevator" is unquestionably trash. Great guys, too. - Tue, 17 Jan 2006 11:55pm
Bladge User Info... | Yea, older stuff is more underground and not radio pop... therefore making it cool ;) I think i'm on the right track now... right guys? - Wed, 18 Jan 2006 3:47am
cooper User Info... | Yeah man, take Theset for example: their older stuff is WAY better than this new radio crap they're putting out. And they're all assholes now. Makes me wish Freightine III was still with the band... - Wed, 18 Jan 2006 11:45am
Lucius User Info... | Meh, i don't really like the music but I respect them for what they have accomplished so far. Same goes for pretty much any of the island bands that break out. It seems that once a band gets on the radio people start to think they are mainstream and hate them, I am not sure why that is. Cheers Lucius - Wed, 18 Jan 2006 12:47pm
Tyler User Info... | I think the point was that their sound changed completely during the transition, not that people hate them because they became more mainstream. seriously, give the older stuff a listen. this is probably one of the biggest examples of a complete sound change. - Wed, 18 Jan 2006 2:17pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | That's wierd, I bought the last theset CD thinking it wouldn't be all that great (from the songs I've heard on Capital Rock City, and actually ended up liking it. HotHotHeat are just a strange band that takes awhile to get into, but I like No Not Now and Banages and Goodnight Goodnight and Middle of Nowhere, so I dunno. And I have the 3 CD they released, too. Elevator just sounds more professional then Make Up the Breakdown. - Wed, 18 Jan 2006 5:33pm
YouEnjoyMyself User Info... | I like some HHH, but does anyone else think that Mr. Bays kinda sings in a british accent? It's so hot right now, maybe he decided to adopt one? I don't really know his life story, maybe he spent a few years in Lancastershire? Also, I Owe You An IOU, and Middle Of Nowhere are both ridiculously catchy pop songs. That being said, they're not the kind of songs I'm really happy that get caught in my head. I kinda strive to get them out. But I'm proud of their success and wish good things for them. - Thu, 19 Jan 2006 1:58am
RollingRocks User Info... | I haven't heard that many Hot Hot Heat songs. Just the stuff on the radio I guess. And I hated it all until "Goodnight Goodnight". "Middle of Nowhere" is okay and "You owe me and I owe you" is catchy and fantastic. What can I say? I'm a pop princess. Deal with it. - Fri, 20 Jan 2006 12:37pm
wanless User Info... | Make up the break down has a few good songs, but they still sound like they tried to make them radio friendly. But "this town" is a really good song, basically the only one that i can think of from make up the break down that really stands out, no not now isn't bad either. But some songs that are worth checking out are Inventing words Le Le low touch you touch you tokyo vogue (thats with the old singer) - Fri, 20 Jan 2006 2:30pm

Tyler User Info... | Scenes One Through Thirteen is the reason I want a Roland Juno 6 or Juno 60. does anyone know if Matthew Marnick still lives in Victoria? he was the original vocalist. - Sat, 21 Jan 2006 5:17pm
Anonymous User Info... | no, he's in vancouver. why has he turned into this obscure hero/superstar. god, he wasn't that cool. not directed at you, just in general. - Sat, 21 Jan 2006 8:01pm
