XY-SATAN User Info... | Well I just picked up my second ESP LTD , bought it off Darryl (ML7) . It's a H-1000 , love it to death and I already have a MH-250nt, plays like silk . My next axe will be a MH-400nt , there's alot of people interested in this guitar , low in price for what you get IMHO . You have to go to Arbutus Music in Nanaimo (or Van) to try one out if they even have any in, they go quick so you may need to phone (1-877 265-4327)and reserve . I was just lucky to be with ML7 Mike for a test drive and put a hold on it ,bought it the next day ! Their the only dealer of ESP on the rock . ……And I could always let you try mine if you wish. Here's a link and the specs http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_mh.htm set-thru construction; 25.5” scale; mahogany body w/quilted maple top; 3-piece maple neck; rosewood fingerboard; offset block inlays w/model name at 12th fret; EMG 81/85 active pickups; volume & tone controls w/3-way slotted switch; black hardware; Grover tuners; Earvana Compensated Nut; Tune-o-matic bridge w/string-thru-body; natural binding on body: white binding on neck & headstock; 24 XJ frets - Sun, 27 Nov 2005 7:37pm

_Griphin_ User Info... | Get a guitar you can afford if your just learning ($200 Special). If your a genius guitar player, get something you can't afford. :) - Sun, 27 Nov 2005 8:18pm
Wanless User Info... | Well probebly the best thing to do in this situation is to go into long and mcquade and try out a few different guitars. My suggestions would be a les paul or some sort of shredding guitar like an ibenez, esp or a jackson - Sun, 27 Nov 2005 8:58pm
oh the pain User Info... | warm sound- humbuckers- less shrill than single coil and still have some versatility. sound can be nice and thick and you can still have clarity as well a neck through model (a lot of gibsons have these) rather than a bolt neck will give you better sustain though some will tell you there is no difference as for harmonics it all depends on what you are looking for. for the screaming metal half feedback half harmonic sound that is just as much your amp as your guitar. finding a good guitar for 200$ is a chore. dont spend a thousand bucks or anything. 500$ could get you a decent epiphone that would have all of those things. good luck - Sun, 27 Nov 2005 9:17pm
XY- ESPLTD User Info... | I paid $540 dollars + tax for this guitar The MH-400nt is only a couple of hundred more with active EMG 81/85 in it . A STEAL ! They even have lower MH models under $500 beans . But I have seen some good cheap axes in L & M , and they rock down there . Sure wish you would've got the dealership for ESP I'd be living down there ! But … it’s not ever to late yea know ! Hint ..Hint ! - Sun, 27 Nov 2005 9:51pm

_Griphin_ User Info... | What a neat looking MH-400nt guitar. Hey just cause I can't play a guitar doesn't mean i can't appreciate how a guitar looks. - Mon, 28 Nov 2005 8:09pm
Tambo User Info... | if you're looking for a cheap guitar, the Ibanez GAX-30 or GAX-70 is a steal, less than 300$, and you can get an awesome metal or punk tone out of it with the stock pickups. I love mine to pieces. - Mon, 28 Nov 2005 8:31pm
The Admirial User Info... | The ibanez's are great. I found the stock pickups on my ax weren't that great. I put in a set of seymour duncan SH-6's. Can't say enough good things about them. Wicked harmonic squeals and great tone. They'll run you about 225 for the set. http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/humbuckersdescr.shtml#DuncanDistortion153 . - Mon, 28 Nov 2005 8:46pm
