sue User Info... | Now, this is just an observation, but I find it ironic that the same boy who is so quick to put down another persons taste in music needs to post seeking acceptance for his own taste. I was raised to be able to appreciate music. Even if it's not the music that I identify with I can still at least appreciate the skill needed to create it. - Fri, 4 Nov 2005 4:20pm
Brandon User Info... | Not really my style but i thought it was mediocre. - Fri, 4 Nov 2005 4:39pm

wanless User Info... | Ive heard these guys before, or have I???? They sound like every other shitty band out there trying to do something new, its terrible and victoria is following this kind of style of music. What ever happened to character in music? There is no Character these days. Back in the 60's was the breakthrough for bands they did similar things but they still had character, 70's rock n roll and do what you want plus some punk rebelion, 80's take someone elses idea but make it bigger harder better. 90's (early fuck everyone else im playing simple music because shredding sucks) (late fabricated music is in, lets have 30 boy bands singing about how much they love someone who doesn't exist) and then the 00's lets do what that band did cause they are famous, maybe we can just leach off of them and be famous. It seems that from about 97 on music has become a business not an art, what the hell is that???? Its completely rediculus(sp?) but thats what it is these days, and i would say examples from victoria because there are tons of copycats here. All you fucken music snobs/emo kids think you are the greatest because you think you are on top of the music scene, but all you are really doing is what the media wants. Thank you for your time to read my post - Mon, 7 Nov 2005 7:49pm

Pubert User Info... | hey pue,........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................SHADDUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHACKA! - Wed, 9 Nov 2005 9:41pm
canada_drum User Info... | So wanless, are you saying that ALL the music being made now a days is crap, because its all emo. I dont fully understand, bacause im sure bands like Combat Wombat and Vinegaroon aren't "emo". Anyways, "Emo" is just the most popular sound in many places right now, and people like to play whatever they listen to, not to listen to emo and play classic rock. - Mon, 14 Nov 2005 3:09pm
wanless User Info... | Its not that at all, what im saying is take a band like simple plan and then compare them to social code, they sound incredibly similar and im sure if i wanted to i could find numerous amounts of bands that would sound just like simple plan. I don't mind emo, but it seems that when a band plays emo, they play the same as that other band that is doing really well. I have seen about 15 emo acts and i've noticed that they all are incredibly similar, nothing that stands out from the other emo acts that ive seen. I haven't seen or heard vinegaroon or combat wombat, so im not saying anything about them. My biggest issue with bands like the one that was originally posted is that they don't have their own persona, character, whatever you may call it, to distinguish the band when you hear a song on the radio. Look at queen, you know its queen when you hear it supertramp, another band like that soundgarden, stone temple pilots, led zeppelin, the rolling stones, the beatles, green day, radiohead, type o negative.... all these bands that i just listed, (a short list) have what i call character. Character is a quality that seperates one band from another band and is very distinctive. But not many bands have character these days. Now im not asking for everyone to play rock, thats just what i like to play, but it would be nice if there was more variation in music, bands actually getting artistic about music and going out on a limb. If you are playing what is popular at the time it's just copying someone else's idea which isn't wrong, but it just goes to be more noticable. When i listen to 30 Seconds to Mars it sounds like the mars volta to me. I don't mind the mars volta at all, i think they are good, allthough i've only heard 5 songs of theirs. - Mon, 14 Nov 2005 6:39pm
Trican User Info... | "When i listen to 30 Seconds to Mars it sounds like the mars volta to me." edit "When i listen to 30 Seconds to Mars it sounds like the mars volta to me, because i'm clearly retarded." - Mon, 14 Nov 2005 10:54pm
wanless User Info... | K, maybe i am a bit retarded, i did fall on my head when i was 7. But thats what comes to my mind when i listen to it. You have to admit that there are a few similarities - Tue, 15 Nov 2005 7:01am
Brandon User Info... | Is it just me or is this post way too fucking wide? - Tue, 15 Nov 2005 5:36pm
wanless User Info... | yeah i noticed that as well, i don't like it, too much effort to read the bigger posts - Tue, 15 Nov 2005 6:26pm
brumy User Info... | i really dont see how 30 seconds to mars sounds anything like mars volta..but ook if you think that....thats fine - Tue, 15 Nov 2005 8:42pm
Trican User Info... | yeah you are entitled to your opinion.. i guess.. kinda.. maybe.. - Tue, 15 Nov 2005 9:46pm
wanless User Info... | I realized today that maybe I am being stubbern and going about this with a biased oppinion, i guess i really haven't given that type of music a real chance. But it would be nice to hear a band that people draw attention to to have something incredible going for them. Character, change of moods (epic like, who said that epics were only for 80's rock), you know something to really stand out from the rest of the other bands. Wouldn't you agree, maybe that might be my next project, epic emo???? or whatever you guys call it - Wed, 16 Nov 2005 12:14am
alain User Info... | Wait a second... 5 songs is Volta's entire album? And Mars Volta = Epic Emo... = Epo? I love listening to 30 seconds to mars though, the 20 minute brass solo breakdowns and noisefests always get me. Jared Leto's a bit too spanish at some points though... - Wed, 16 Nov 2005 12:29am
wanless User Info... | Well, since you say that thr mars volta are "epo" would you be able to list the songs off, i only have one song that i frequently listen to and i don't know the name of it. Or even at that fact some cool bands that have different styles incorperated into one - Wed, 16 Nov 2005 2:43pm
