Platoon User Info... | Not exactly local to Victoria but the Commodore is definitely my favorite in the area. The Commodore is just so classy! Perfect mosh floor, cool people. The Sugar is not half bad either, considering all of the wicked shows I have seen there. I haven't played in a venue mind you. - Fri, 28 Oct 2005 9:23pm

john User Info... | The best venue in Victoria is the Young Auditoreum at Camosun College, the Victoria Event Centre is also awesome. - Sat, 29 Oct 2005 11:16am
_Griphin_ User Info... | Is Big Fernwood the place that had the cancer All-Ager?!? I know, is it located in Fernwood and they have All-Agers in the auditorium? You know, I just realized I've been going to see shows there for at least 20 years. If NoMeansNo released YouKillMe in 1985 (according to the record) I saw NoMeansNo there when they were touring for that album. That was wierd, young punks with hippies all crammed into that auditorium, interesting gig. Gawd I feel old. - Sat, 29 Oct 2005 1:30pm

wheate User Info... | Well if Vancouver is close enough to be local than I guess Seattle is too. The Paramount Theatre in Seattle is freaking gorgeous. The fact that it is such a distinguished venue, made it all the sweeter when Tool destroyed it. Oh yeah I guess that little outdoor amphitheatre in George, WA is Ok too. - Sat, 29 Oct 2005 9:53pm

Zippgunn User Info... | So many styles of music: for punk I want the Rat's Nest (especially when they had the lattice on the roof so when you finished a beer you just stuck it in the holes. The bar in the washer under the stairs was classic also). For Classical I love the Phillip Young Recital Hall at UVic which is the ultimate place in town to hear something like a string quartet or a soprano/piano duet. Herman's was always a great jazz bar because it's so intimate and dead sounding. The old Harpo's was the best place to see an "alt" band but it seems to be history forever. Logan's is kind of like Harpo's without the view of the harbour and the 4" high dressing rooms (or the grumpy soundman, ho ho). - Sun, 13 Nov 2005 3:00am
