Ty Stranglehold User Info... | looks like they've become The Vandals... One original member (and not a front man) that sucks. - Thu, 8 Sep 2005 12:23am
jay fatso User Info... | thats retarded.. chris IS propagandhi. - Thu, 8 Sep 2005 11:35am
jackass User Info... | I don't believe it. I just searched Propaghandi's news over the last 2 years and there was no such comment about Chris leaving. He definitely did the guitars and vocals on the new album. I think it's all bs; he's still in the band. - Thu, 8 Sep 2005 3:17pm
jackass User Info... | Yeah, so I've got the album now, have listened to it through several times, and compared songs with the last album, and there is no way that is a different singer/guitarist. Their website has a thing up in the FAQ about the "new" guitarist, and all the stories and explanations they have are all pretty weak. It even says in the cd liner that it's a different guy, but they have a picture and even though he's a sad lookin dude, it still looks just like Hannah. I'm sticking with my original thought...I don't believe it. Same guy. - Wed, 26 Oct 2005 5:37pm
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | Jym got it and told me that it's definitely not Chris Hannah, but he sure sounds like him. - Wed, 26 Oct 2005 6:17pm
jackass User Info... | I love Knobby, but he's as much of an expert as I am. I know what it says on websites, and in the liner, but it sounds EXACTLY like Hannah, and I don't believe everything I read on the webbernet. Listen to "Back to the Motor League" and "Die Jugend Marschiert" and tell me it's not the same guy. It's some kind of trick or promotional gimmick. All the little blurbs they have up about it being a new guy are all weak explanations, I have yet to see anything that approaches serious and adequately explains what happened to Hannah and how they found somebody that sounds exactly like him. It's all weak sauce. But the album rules, that's for sure, regardless. - Wed, 26 Oct 2005 6:25pm
jackass User Info... | http://punknews.org/comments.php?sid=14079&tid=393195&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0 ok, not to flog a dead horse here, but I might decide to believe this bit of internet literature. "According to the liner notes, Hannah has been replaced by "Glen Lambert," a shotgun-toting, suicidal loner in flannel pyjamas and a red terry-cloth housecoat. On the surface, this is just a joke. Glen Lambert is the name of a kid who went to school with Hannah and drummer Jordan Samolesky when the Propagandhi founders grew up in Portage la Prairie. But there's something more than a little symbolic about Hannah's attempt to become invisible. Potemkin City Limits marks the first time the guitarist is not the Propagandhi frontman, but one of two frontmen, as singer-bassist Todd Kowalski steps up to sing and write the lyrics for five of the album's 12 new songs. The Glen Lambert persona, he acknowledges, suggests a desire to remove himself from public view. " - Wed, 26 Oct 2005 6:35pm
jay fatso User Info... | i actually found the guitar playing to be a giveaway. thats chris playing guitar..no doubt about it. the only way for "glen lambert" to be real..well, he'd have to be a CLONE of chris. - Thu, 27 Oct 2005 12:37am
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | I heard it today too. Yeah, I was hard pressed to think it was someone else (except when the bass dude was singing). And to Jym's credit (as he astutely pointed out), he didn't say "definitely". It gets good at song 6 - Thu, 27 Oct 2005 6:03pm
jay fatso User Info... | ha! ty..told ya so... - Thu, 27 Oct 2005 8:21pm
jackass User Info... | yep, that's why I said Knobby was as much of an expert as I was...at least insofar as differentiating one singer from another...if you were talking about music in general, I gotta admit Knobby has me there. I don't know anybody who listens to more music than he does. - Fri, 28 Oct 2005 11:45am
