Jory User Info... | I'm looking for a new delay/echo pedal or unit, just wondering what people would recommend, I have a Line 6 DL4 and an Ibanez DE-7, I'm looking for something really warm, I don't need too many features as the DL4 can make alot of messed up noises. I don't have a ton of money either, so something I might be able to find used or ebay would be good too. - Fri, 8 Jul 2005 4:59pm
alain User Info... | Word Jory. Seems you've got digital. If you're looking for warm that doesn't cost too much, maybe on the digital train you can get a low-cut boss dd-something mod from analogman.com. What exactly is your price range? Wonder what the diamond memory lane will go for... - Fri, 8 Jul 2005 6:56pm
cooper User Info... | Most people find the DE7 pretty warm on the echo setting. Are you looking for even warmer? If so, I have no idea what I'd recommend. Maybe a true analog delay, like a Boss DM-2/3? - Sat, 9 Jul 2005 6:59am
ZiNK User Info... | Well, how about an analogue tape delay/echo unit such as an Echoplex http://www.loopers-delight.com/tools/oldechoplex/oldechoplex.html or a Roland Space Echo. http://www.sonicstate.com/synth/roland_re201space.cfm That's about as warm as you're gonna get and they're loads of fun to use. - Sat, 9 Jul 2005 8:21am
Armchair Cynics User Info... | Jory, I would just keep your eyes open for an old boss analog delay... Search for a DM-2 or Dm-3... but make sure I don't beat you to it.. they go for like $200 I think. -Adam - Sat, 9 Jul 2005 9:25am
Robnoxious User Info... | If you can find one the purple/mauve Dan-echo by Danelctro is the warmest delay going for around $150.00. Not sure if they're still in production (should have bought a spare) - Sat, 9 Jul 2005 11:28am
[+} User Info... | how about the tube tape echo? well.. definitely not cheap. but amazing delay. i'd say that the DE-7 is the warmest you could go in the digital department. ever considered a memory man? all analog, with modulation to get some warble.. that's my analog recommendation for under $250 (used) other than that: danelectro reel echo - tape delay sim with sound on sound. awesome. ibanez DE-7 - which you already have diamond memory lane - probably to pricey at $400+ and i think a guy had a maxon AD999 which is a gorgeous analog delay unit. - Sat, 9 Jul 2005 12:44pm
Jory User Info... | Thanks for all the replies, I'm going to mess around with the DE-7 some more to see if I can get the tone I want out of it and keep my eyes out for an old analog delay, thanks for everyone's input - Sat, 9 Jul 2005 3:26pm
T-dot User Info... | I have a dm-3 and can testify that it changed my guitar for the better. Running it last in your chain will produce some of the warmest tones out there. T - Sat, 9 Jul 2005 3:46pm
KidComa User Info... | I have to second the dm-3, i lost mine a couple of years ago... i keep meaning to get another. Space echo is good too, but kinda noisy. - Sat, 9 Jul 2005 4:17pm
