Motorhead have been forced to cancel a few of their European summer
festivals and reschedule others after founder and frontman Lemmy
Kilmister was diagnosed by doctors this week as suffering from
extreme dehydration leading to exhaustion and was ordered to take
time off and rest immediately.

"When you're dealing with a warhorse like Lemmy it's not easy to
discuss typical normal healthy things such as a balanced diet and
proper fluid intake," said manager Todd Singerman. "Look, one time
when I spoke to him about the importance of vegetables in a diet, he
looked me straight in the eye and said "what are you talking about
Todd! These crisps here are part of the vegetable food group!" So
imagine telling him he needs to drink more water because it's a crazy
hot summer in Europe! Although in fairness to Lemm he did start
making an effort by adding extra ice-cubes to his Jack and coke"

Drummer Mikkey Dee spoke of the 100 plus degree heat at recent gigs,
and commented, "I'm having to drink 8 bottles of Gatorade as well as
water just to get through these shows, I mean, I'm close to passing
out, and there's Lemm sweating his ass off drinking his Jack and
coke! I told him after our last number at the Fury Fest in
France, "let's not go back out for an encore" and that we should call
it a night because really, I thought I was going to collapse. They
were telling us that it was over 130 degrees on stage, but he
insisted on doing the final two encores. We managed to get
through 'Ace Of Spades' so I said 'come on Lemm, we did an encore,
let's just skip the last one 'Overkill' " and he said, "no Mikkey,
we're doing 'Overkill' but maybe we can just play it a little
slower. "

Commenting on rumors that Lemmy's health is in a more serious state
than diagnosed, Singerman laughed."Come on, you couldn't make this
story up! The simple truth is that Lemmy's the classic rock'n'roll
juggernaut who has proudly defied human logic for decades, but even
juggernauts need a bit of maintenance once in a while."

I could see it from what I've read of him he is an all out rock 'n roller that probably doesn't care as much for his pyhsical health as he does for the music. Gotta love him. - Mon, 4 Jul 2005 8:49pm

I don't think it's an online hoax, I doubt Stefano on the Motorhead group would lie about something like that. - Tue, 5 Jul 2005 6:09am

In Lemmy's autobiography 'White Line Fever', Lemmy said because of all the abuse he's done to himself over the years he can't get OR give blood cause it's too poisonous. If he gets fresh blood, he'll die and if he gives blood to someone who need it, they'll die.
Has anyone read that book? It's great! - Tue, 5 Jul 2005 8:03am

last weeks hoax.. or maybe he sobered up and realized what he'd said? hehe

Ian 'Lemmy' Kilmister is a Rock n Roll icon. His legendary band MOTORHEAD has been going on strong for over 30 years, and there looks like no signs of the band, or the man faltering.

"I play Rock n' Roll to the max," he told VH1, "Motorhead are a

Rock n' Roll band, devoted to partying, booze, and sex". Sex is something Lemmy Kilmister is renowned for. The man claims to have bedded thousands of women, including ladies from Penthouse and Playboy. Lemmy isn't the most good looking of all chaps, but he's definitely turns humans on, whether with his music or with his lifestyle.

But has his life been all women all the time?

"People have difficulties overcoming guilt", Lemmy said, "One thing that makes us feel guilty is our sexuality. I know many good people who are gay or bisexual, and I'm proud to say that I can Rock and booze with the best of them. Why? Well, because I am one."

You heard right, Lemmy has decided to come clean and spill the truth out to all his fans.

"My sexual urge for females was always a driving force to the music. Songs like 'Limb From Limb' and 'Make My Day' were written as odes to the female body. But sometimes we,

as men, can not always find females to be the more... err... nourishing gender sometimes. Y'know what I mean? Sometimes this... feeling takes you over and you

wanna experiment and try out new stuff. I am proud of being a bisexual, and this still doesn't mean I don't want a little bit of p**** on the side (laughs)."

"Prejudices are always hard to break. But I don't give a shit about what others think of me. Motorhead has never been about the critics. It's all the music. Just because I enjoy some guys doesn't mean jack. I still churn out the music every

fucking night, all the fuckking time. I am proud of my fans, and they know that I always give 100%."

Rock n' Roll, and in particular Metal has always been a rather macho genre. However, with legendary musical icons like Rob Halford (JUDAS PRIEST) and Freddy Mercury (QUEEN) admitting to being homosexual, the stereotypes have been stripped down. Lemmy's coming out may come as a shock, but can we deal with it? The man certainly can.

"I love you guys. No innuendo intended!"

Motorhead's Stone Dead Forever DVD will be out on July 4th through SPV. - Tue, 5 Jul 2005 10:50am
