_Griphin_ User Info... | Wow I didn't know that this was the bad to be later known as Red Tide. I also didn't know this was Ken Jensen's first band (he would later drum for DOA). But what I'm curious about is what was the first Red Tide album, and what songs were on it ("The Trials of Gee" I think it was called). I'm just trying to get some questions answered (and my last message somehow got nuked). I'm always on the hunt for any other Red Tide demos I don't already have, as well as any local demos I'm missing. Peace... - Thu, 9 Jun 2005 10:32am
XY-SATAN User Info... | Red Tide ! Yes ! Ok, I just feel damn old now . I was in that dumbass experimental school (spectrum) in 81! - Fri, 10 Jun 2005 10:44pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | Mmmm... old skewl punk rock bands!!! Hopefully I can find all the Red Tide demos I'm missing (crossing fingers). - Sat, 11 Jun 2005 6:44am
rickylong User Info... | Hi Griph Well, Red Tide released three demo cassettes and one 7" Kelp and Salal. I am not aware of an album. Tim Crow can be reached at the punkhistory website. He will know more. Chris Prohom moved onto a term with The Dayglos then a term of duty with DOA. Ken Jensens first band was a band called the Nuclear Errors, and i saw them play at the Fernwood back in 82? Red Tide where one of the best hardcore bands to come out of Victoria. What a great time! -rickylong - Sat, 11 Jun 2005 6:31pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | *Nod* I got ahold of Tim Crow, but all he has is copies of the Zines he released, he doesn't have any of the demos he released :( - Thu, 30 Jun 2005 3:16pm
Zippgunn User Info... | As (bad) luck would have it the Suburban Menace tapes (as well as the Red Tide and Neos masters and everything else recorded on my antique Tascam 1/2" 4 track back in the early '80's) are all lost in the mists of time and even I don't have copies of the mixes. If anybody out there actually has copies of this stuff for God's sake look after them! I DO have all the multitrack masters from about '85 on however (as well as almost all the mixes). - Fri, 1 Jul 2005 9:16am
_Griphin_ User Info... | Shame. All I got was the Surburban Menace demo and the (I think) first Red Tide demo. Shame your masters are timelost :) What exactly did you manage to hold onto?!? - Fri, 1 Jul 2005 10:04am
karate porkchop User Info... | Red Tide did rule! Sparky from Urge played with them for a bit too if my damaged mind serves me right - Fri, 1 Jul 2005 2:04pm
