Message Board > Music Chitchat - Heavy > who would be intrested in a vocal workshop? |
PrincessP User Info... | I just got back from a vocal workshop with Camile Henderson who was Sarah Macgloclyn back up vocalist for ten years. ( yeah I can't spell) I learned a few intresting things but I realized that I have a lot of training and I could easily put on a workshop or give lessons. Would anybody be intrested in doing a workshop with me? - Wed, 1 Jun 2005 8:18am
Brandon User Info... | so when you say do a workshop with you do you mean like put it on with you or go attend this workshop - Wed, 1 Jun 2005 11:55am
princess p User Info... | I would be teaching it. It would run for two days and be between $100 and $150. - Wed, 1 Jun 2005 12:26pm
Pubert User Info... | only is sarah mclaughlin shows up in a thong with a hat full of rubbers. whaka whaka whaka! - Wed, 1 Jun 2005 6:08pm
alain User Info... | I like the idea, but the price is not my friend. I'm a newb on the vocals, but I'm starting to take lessons, and a workshop sounds like something that'd interest me, so let me know if that price ever does change. Thanks As for Pubert... That's ridiculous, why would sarah own a hat? - Thu, 2 Jun 2005 3:30pm
princess p User Info... | I could totally bring the price down. I paid 200 for the workshop that I just went to and I know mine will be alot more useful for people. I guess it will depend on how many people want to do it. I have to make it worth my while. who are you taking lesson's with? - Thu, 2 Jun 2005 3:57pm
alain User Info... | I definitely think it should be worth your while, and I wish I could pay you a higher amount, but I'm first a bassist and guitarist, and all that takes up so much money already that it's hard to have money left for vocals. Hopefully when you have your workshop I'll have set some money aside. As for lessons, I'm at the conservatory with Robin Cathguard (excellent teacher). - Thu, 2 Jun 2005 5:55pm
The Box Drone User Info... | If you could somehow prove that I would learn alot from it, I would be into sinking money into a workshop... but I'm already an excellent singer, so I wouldn't want to spend alot of money unless I was sure I would get something out of it. - Sun, 5 Jun 2005 9:46am
princess p User Info... | The thing with vocal training is no matter how good you are everybody needs it. the biggest stars in the world still have vocal teachers. I went to a workshop and only learned one new thing. But it was worth it because it reminded me what I'm supposed to be doing. So many singers fall in to bad habits and end up damaging their voice. It's not always about learning something new it's about still having your voice when your old. I don't think I'm going to do a workshop any more I would rather just give private lessons. - Sun, 5 Jun 2005 9:54am
knobgobbler User Info... | Vocal training is important, but all the technique in the world won't imbue you with talent. Yes, everyone could benefit from lessons! Perhaps you should think about placing an ad in the TC or News Group papers if you're considering offering private lessons. There are plenty of aspiring young singers who dream of fronting a band like Killingflaw- all they need is a mentor like you to teach them to sing from their diaphrams! - Sun, 5 Jun 2005 8:34pm
Anonymous User Info... | theres about 100 people who say their available for lessons in livevic's musician directory - Sun, 5 Jun 2005 9:16pm
princess p User Info... | That's a great idea knob gobbler. and your right just because you take lessons doesn't mean your good. thanks for the encouragement I was starting to get nervous I have my first student on thurs. - Mon, 6 Jun 2005 8:04am
The Box Drone User Info... | Well since you're doing it privately now, what do you charge for a session? I've always wanted to take a few lessons, but I want to make sure it's with someone who understands where I'm coming from inspiration wise, and I'm very much down with what Killing Flaw is up to. - Mon, 6 Jun 2005 3:58pm
princess p User Info... | I was thinking of charging $25 for a 1/2 and $40 for a 1 full hour. - Tue, 7 Jun 2005 1:15pm
