V-DUB User Info... | Alright I need some help here. I am looking to purchase a pedal for a guitarist friend of mine. He's got a wah and I think distortion already but that's it. He plays a wide range of stuff like folk, rock, jazz and blues. and has been playing for close to 10 years. I would like to get him something that has a few things too it. I know there are a shitload of pedals out there and it has a lot to do with personal choice but I thought I'd ask. So all you guitarist and such let me know what you think would be a good if not great investment. I am also open to other effect technology not just pedals. Thanks for your brain - Wed, 25 May 2005 10:51am

cooper User Info... | Delay opens up a world of possibilities, regardless of what genre he plays. But maybe I'll second the Zoom, 'cause whaddya know, I gots one for sale! - Wed, 25 May 2005 1:46pm
KnifeGhost User Info... | Ibanez DL7.... Crisp digital delay or sweet faux-analog that even impresses the audio heads..... - Wed, 25 May 2005 8:42pm
cooper User Info... | Ibanez DE7...exactly what I would recommend. Can be found for cheap too. http://www.ibanez.com/accessories/spec.asp?m=18 - Wed, 25 May 2005 10:34pm
KnifeGhost User Info... | Thanks for the correction.... I would recommend against a multi-effects board, unless you're the type to take full advantage of it, and unless you get a really shit-hot unit.... I've never heard a multi-effects board that I liked as much as seperate boxes...... And if he's just branching out into effects, he doesn't need flange AND phase AND chorus AND delay AND filters AND so on..... A good versatile but dedicated box, I tihnk, is the way to go... - Thu, 26 May 2005 2:33pm

V-DUB User Info... | Thanks for all the suggestions. Keep them coming please I am still trying to figure out what to get. I am wondering about loopers and distortion pedals? Anybody use these? I am heading to L&M tonight to check out some pedals so I will see what they have to offer and suggest as well. I will be checkin into the DE7 while I am there too. Please let me know if you have any other ideas. Thanks I really appreciate the input. It is helping me narrow it down. V-DUB Hey Brumy: I would love to get my friend the XT PRO but it is a bit sweet for my pocket. I think its around like 500 + isn't it. Good piece of machinery though, Actually for most Line6 stuff I have not heard complaints. - Mon, 30 May 2005 1:34pm
cooper User Info... | I say stay away from buying a distortion or overdrive for someone else, unless you absolutely know for sure it's the one he/she wants, as this is an effect that is both highly subjective and is up to personal preference. I still say go for delay, as that opens up so many possibilities in the world of guitar. - Mon, 30 May 2005 4:28pm
steve User Info... | line6 xtlive and the variax 300s guitars are pretty low cost for what you get. imo and the guitar pu/guitars can be controled by the floorboard/xtlive. the free software kicks ass for these line 6 products. IMO - Mon, 30 May 2005 6:23pm
