Lucius User Info... | Okay, this kid is 11 years old. wtf??? how do you get that good at that age? http://www.monumentweb.com/Malchonka1.wmv - Sun, 15 May 2005 4:26pm
Tambo User Info... | But he has no stage presence! He is good though :). - Sun, 15 May 2005 4:39pm
KnifeGhost User Info... | He can play scales, but he doesn't know how to rock..... - Sun, 15 May 2005 4:42pm
alain User Info... | Imagine the way his parents must raise him... (insert the all-too-common michael jackson joke involving the boy's skin-colour and age?) - Mon, 16 May 2005 2:38pm
Lucius User Info... | I was thinking about that as well. You don't get that good unless you're playing 3-6 hours/day. Especially at that age when you want to be watching cartoons or something. His father was prolly a guitar player trying to live through the son. Did you check out the gear he was using. Shit I don't have gear like that and I am a certified Gear Whore! Imagine the way his parents must raise him... - Tue, 17 May 2005 1:07pm
Detroit Velvet Smooth User Info... | Imagine the way his parents must raise him...???? it might be that he likes playing guitar. good for him, he won't have to work at mcdonalds slinging shit burgers. he may have a record contract by 16, limo's, bitches, and a big ass house on a hill. good thing your parents stuck you in front of the TV so you could grow up like every one else eh! i took guitar lessons at age five and ten, but i never practiced and hated the teachers. - Tue, 17 May 2005 1:16pm
Rudi Ranogajec User Info... | Can you say Prodigy. RR - Tue, 17 May 2005 4:26pm
alain User Info... | One: I'm not sure that playing guitar well gets you famous anymore. Two: What, you think he hears his idols on the radio shredding?... Most likely the parents' influence. Three: Does it look like he gets into it? Not really. Four: The TV thing... I stand by what I said - Tue, 17 May 2005 11:58pm
Detroit Velvet Smooth User Info... | I would argue with your close minded opinions but you know it all. Have fun get through the rest of your life with that attitude. I’m surprised how threatened people get when they see someone morem talented than them doing it. The kid has no stage presence I will have to agree, but all that tells me he doesn’t have a stage mom pushing him to be on ‘star search’. I think it’s very cool that he’s playing at such a young age, I’ll see the rest of you after school and we can all go hang at the park and smoke cigs. Alain it’s your turn to score smokes from your mom, no fucking menthol this time! - Wed, 18 May 2005 11:41am
ROSS B AY User Info... | 1986 all over again..... - Wed, 18 May 2005 12:04pm
Spark User Info... | okay. So the kid is great, I admire that. But I can see what alain, tambo and knifeghost are getting at. All tech no presence. Its kinda why seattle rock and brit pop rock took over from the sherdders in the 90s. YOu can say a hell of a lot more with one soulful note than a lightning fast lick played without enthusim. - Wed, 18 May 2005 1:36pm
Detroit Velvet Smooth User Info... | looks over talent will win in our present music industry. Video Killed The Radio Star. - Wed, 18 May 2005 2:24pm
Mik User Info... | For those of you who don't know, he's doing 2 Paul Gilbert songs. The first is B.R.O. (if I remember correctly) and the second is Frenzy. He's obviously not going for stage presence here, so negative comments towards him regarding it are irrelevant IMO. He's not just playing scales here! If you're interested, I suggest you take a shot at playing the tunes. I'm pretty sure they can both be found on powertab.net. - Wed, 18 May 2005 2:29pm
Perpetual_Burn User Info... | Ha, that pic from Intense Rock 2 is a CLASSIC. - Wed, 18 May 2005 5:16pm
alain User Info... | OK... I'm not threatened by the obvious tallent this kid has. Though I'm not a fan of the style, I'll agree, it's tallented. Sure, he's probably much better than I am. Then again, I'm only just starting out on guitar. I've been playing bass for a long time though, so I'll say as modestly as possible that I don't fit your description of me. I could be wrong about this kid's upbringing, and I hope I am. It would be a shame for someone with such guitar skills to not enjoy it. I'm saying this because my brother was in the same situation, and now he's quit everything he was great at. So, here's to hoping that I'm wrong. - Wed, 18 May 2005 7:23pm
