Victoria Jazz Society User Info... | TD CANADA TRUST PRESENTS: JAZZFEST INTERNATIONAL 05 STUDENT WORKSHOP/CLINICS The Victoria Jazz Society is committed to the development of jazz in our community. The VJS’s Outreach Program during JazzFest International 2005, presented by TD Canada Trust includes facilitating Workshop/Clinics, which present a unique opportunity for students to improve their skills and gain valuable knowledge and inspiration from some of the world’s finest performing jazz artists. “The festival workshops take students from the classroom to the stage, teaching them a love of the music and the hands-on skills they need to perform,” says Suzanne Poole, Senior Vice President, Pacific Region, TD Canada Trust. “We could see the making of a new Diana Krall or Michael Buble. TD is committed to contributing to the growth and vitality of our communities, and the JazzFest International in Victoria is truly a community experience and celebration. These are particularly fitting qualities for TD as we celebrate our 150 years of serving Canadians throughout 2005.” - Sunday, June 26: CHRISTINE & INGRID JENSEN: Sound development, performance techniques and improvisation, as well as discuss career development in music. - Monday, June 27: JEAN BEAUDET: Improvisational piano. - Tuesday, June 28: ED THIGPEN Alternative sounds for acoustic drum set – with emphasis on Brush technique. - Wednesday, June 29: BRIAN NOVA TRIO (Brian Nova, guitar; Steve Ysen, drums; Bob Mathews, bass.)
