Lucius User Info... | Who uses midi switchable rackmount stuff with an older head (or non midi switchable amp) together. I use a midi capable processor with my JCm800 2205. Anyways, I just finished my design for a midi switcher. I ordered the PCB's and they should be populated by the 18th or so. It has 2 switchable loops (for effects) and can switch 2-amps at the same time. I will be selling these things in a couple weeks time. I haven't worked out a price yet but expect around $150 for the unit. Just post here if you have any questions about it. Cheers Lucius - Thu, 7 Apr 2005 11:23am
Robnoxious User Info... | I found out after much trial and trial again, rack processors only sound decent thru power amps. Stand alone foot pedals work best into a Marshall head. - Thu, 7 Apr 2005 3:26pm
Lucius User Info... | I only use processors that don't have a preamp already built in ie: my alesis midiverb sounded great through the effects loop of my Marshall JCM800, Randall RH200SC, and Peavey ultra plus. My next processor is going to be the G-major no colour at all. I think preamps through the effects loop do colour the tone a lot more like digitech 2112 or BOSS GX700. Which processors were you using? A dedicated effects processor rather than a preamp/processor combo is the only way I play. Cheers Lucius - Thu, 7 Apr 2005 5:25pm
Robnoxious User Info... | It was a Digitech GSP 21 Pro turned Legend ( pre-amp & effects together), I still use into the computer and it sounds ok. Tried a variety of ways with a lot of heads but I found an old Marshall dual mono block power amp (50 x 50) and it sounded way better than any head (tried a couple other power amps also and better sound). Ultimately - too many knobs seems to give a lesser sound. My pedalboard now is daisy chained Boss & Daneltro into a BBE (or bypass the BBE) into a 100 watt head and I get the best sound. Lately I've begun to understand Frank Zappa when he told Steve Vai your tone is in your head ... - Thu, 7 Apr 2005 11:38pm

ODIN User Info... | http://messe.harmony-central.com/Musikmesse05/Content/TC_Electronic/PR/G-System.html since we are talking about rack mounts, I thought this was pretty sweet. - Sat, 9 Apr 2005 9:45pm
Kickback User Info... | I tired a buttload of different rack effects through a marshall 50/50 but in the end i couldnt get that tone i searched soo hard for. I guess there were too many knobs to mess with and too many effects altering my tone. Now it's all simple stuff (guitar, wah+overdrive, Marshall head) - Sun, 10 Apr 2005 10:18am
