Brumy User Info... | are bc rich guitars any good? i really want one but im not to sure about the sound quality. if anyone knows about these guitars please tell me..thanks:) - Mon, 4 Apr 2005 1:47pm
Mr. Hell User Info... | I like my '84 neckthrough Mockingbird, but it desperately needs an EMG 81 in it. For me, BC Rich is mostly about the comfort and feel. My Warlock bass is awesome to play, eventhough it's three string. If I wasn't so lazy I'd put an EMG-HZ in the thing and resurrect it. - Mon, 4 Apr 2005 8:09pm
XY-SATAN User Info... | Hey Mr. Hell I have a EMG-Hz for you to put in man I'm slamming in a 81 , give me a call . - Mon, 4 Apr 2005 9:11pm
Mr. Hell User Info... | Yeah? My Warlock is a bass though. I have a feeling that your HZ is a guitar pickup. If by some miracle it is a bass pickup, you rule! - Mon, 4 Apr 2005 9:16pm
Nik Olaz User Info... | those guitars look stupid and i hear they play like ass - Mon, 4 Apr 2005 9:44pm
Mr. Hell User Info... | Your middle name must be BC Rich. - Mon, 4 Apr 2005 9:48pm
Perpetual_Burn User Info... | BC rich American Neck Thru's have an awesome neck profile, similar to the current Ibanez rg necks, thin and fast. At least the ones I've played do. I like them a lot better than Similar Jacksons. Import BC Rich's are usually just low line, affordable versions. You get what you pay for with those. They're all the same to me. - Mon, 4 Apr 2005 11:22pm
ODIN User Info... | BC Rich is at the very bottom of my list. I would rather play a Jackson, Ibanez or ESP anyday. But Kerry King must play them for a reason, it's all personal preference. If you're looking for an affortable metal axe stick with Ibanez and pop an EMG 81 or a Dimarzio X2N in the bridge. - Mon, 4 Apr 2005 11:49pm
Skull User Info... | What it really boils down to is that any guitar manufacturer will make amazing custom guitars. You just have to spend the $$. Pretty much if your spending less than a grand you're lucky to get a decent guitar. Most of the time $2000 or $3000 is what you'll pay for the look, playability and tone you want. - Tue, 5 Apr 2005 12:45am
ODIN User Info... | I paid $1200 for my Jackson RR5 and it is the best guitar I've ever owned. I have an Ibanez Universe ($1800), I had a Jackson RR10Xd($400, CRAP!) and a Jackson USA Select Series SLAQTH Soloist (2500, alright but I've had better. not worth the $$$ by far) - Tue, 5 Apr 2005 12:54am
Kyle User Info... | Man, I've got this early 80's BC Rich Eagle, that's pretty solid. Don't know shit about any other models... some of them look pretty pointy so you might want safety goggles or something... - Tue, 5 Apr 2005 1:35am
Pierce User Info... | I just bought the BC Rich Beast Bass from Land M. Damn rights, safety goggles a must. The thing is heavy as hell. But as for sound, the thing kicks ass out of any of my yamaha, Ibanez, Jackson, Fender etc - Thu, 7 Apr 2005 8:55pm
lonemonk User Info... | I've never owned one, but every time I pluck away on one, they always feel and keep tune like absolute shit. Keep in mind, I've never run across a custom model, just the crap people collect at the pawn shop or at (gasp) Tempo Trend. I've purchased three broken 'Kent' guitars without feeling the urge for a BC Rich. (Mind you I only paid $60 for all of them) - Thu, 7 Apr 2005 9:34pm
ML7Mike User Info... | Ive owned an 84 BC Rich Mockingbird since about 1989. Its an NJ Series ( Japanese made ) with neck thru, and the classic pearl inlay headstock. The guitar rules, but ya I need to re-wire some new pu's into it. It has really good action, but its just my beater fun guitar, its not worth enough to sell so why would I. MR Hell bought the exact same era and model guitar recently for dirt cheap. Havent liked alot BC Richs over the years, but that guitar place downtown had a Korean woodgrain one for $800 which had a bound fretboard and really nice action, all it needs is a new pu. I think Ill buy a Mockingbird or Warlock thinbody acoustic though, those things are cool lookin! For my money, Id go ESP LTD. You can get a killer LTD MH400 nt stock with EMG 81's, mahogany body, flame maple top, neck thru ( or set thru ), Grover tuners, Floyd Rose optional, for under $1000 Cdn, easily the best guitar for the money on the market in my opinion. Or go with the cheaper one series like an MH250, Agathis body, flame maple top, thru body neck, EMG HZ's, Floyd Rose optional, XYSatan got one at Arbutus Music for $550 Cdn. There is no other company putting out a brand new $600 axe as nice as this one is I dont think.. - Fri, 8 Apr 2005 9:47am
XY-SATAN User Info... | I concur and by them being such good action and workmanship, on such an inexpensive axe they've won me over and I'll be stepping up a model as soon as I have the coin . So Mike get that MH-400 or I will !:p - Fri, 8 Apr 2005 1:09pm
Platoon User Info... | While I have not played an uncountable number of guitars, I have played more than a few. BC Rich is by far my favorite guitar overall. If you are thinking about buying one, you probably should. Warlock models are my favorite looks wise. - Mon, 25 Apr 2005 11:24pm
