Mordock.the.Benzite User Info... | Hail the RIFF! Corrupted-essential japanese doom/sludge...get anything you can....for some reason alot of their lyrics and titles are in spanish....I know not why Dot[.]- more sludge from Japan. Corrupted worship. Grief- the masters of the genre (along with eyehategod who started rocking slightly after grief). Everything they ever did is amazing....reunion show at the Boston doom and grind fest in July....also check out noosebomb which contains members of Grief. YOB- psycadellic stoner doom....the clean Perry Farrel style vocals through me off at first....but the music is just too good to deny. Goatsblood- amazing on cd and maybe the best band I've ever seen live...look from a collaberation with Watchmaker soon on willowtip. Mindrot- great death metal/doom Burning Witch+ Khanate+ Thorr's Hammmer + Sunn- All 4 are stephen o'malley bands and they all totally rule (burning witch being the pinnacle of his output thus far) Asunder- members of dystopia, weakling and skaven ...if that isn't enough of a reason to give them a listen then we live in different worlds. Noothgrush- you might call them grief's younger brother....not quite as good...but fans of the genre will eat it up many many more ...I'll leave others to reccomend some and will return if they fail in the task. - Sat, 26 Mar 2005 8:26pm
wolf 359 User Info... | CAMBODIA - members of Goatsblood and ten miles wide, 30 minute song? Count me in. - Sun, 27 Mar 2005 3:18am

Mutilashawn User Info... | Hell yes to Asunder!! Jaimie sent me a band called Nortt, incredibly slow black/doom. I think I'm in love. - Sun, 27 Mar 2005 12:43pm
Jaron Evil User Info... | GOATSBLOOD - If sludge without form or song structure is your thing, these guys are the best at it. Listening to Goatsblood really IS like having a corkscrew turned slowly up your dickhole. -- Good or bad depends on you. DUSK - I picked up a CD of these guys last week and they are some amazing doom metal. Very atmospheric, yet brutal. MY DYING BRIDE - The kings of doom metal. - - Sun, 27 Mar 2005 2:46pm
Mordock.the.Benzite User Info... | Buried at Sea-Epic crushing stoner doom....unfortuantely shortly after I heard them I found out that they have already broken up.....weak. Hyatari-This is one of the best new bands I've heard...they self released their first album The Light Carries last year and it will be re-released by Codebreaker sometime soon. 7 tracks that all flow together as one composition....droning parts akin to sunn or earth flow into mid period neurosis worship along crushing stoner riffs. Om-no guitar...just drums and bass and chant-like vocals...ex members of Sleep(as much as I like High on Fire...Om is the better ex-Sleep project in my opinion) and the music comes across as an extention of that...their aptly titled album Variations on a Theme (released on Holy Mountain records) contains 3 songs lasting approx. 45mins. - Sun, 27 Mar 2005 3:43pm
Nik Olaz User Info... | Fulci - funeral doom Rwake Mass (although they are quite prog-ish) - Sun, 27 Mar 2005 9:20pm
canon.docre User Info... | Runemagick - total mid-paced stoner death. AMAZING songwriting. Every song is totally memorable. Khanate is better than Burning Witch. - Mon, 28 Mar 2005 2:15am

KnifeGhost User Info... | Mordock, there's nothing clean about the vocals in Yob..... They're not growly/screamy/metal, but they're some of the most processed vocals I've ever heard.... - Tue, 29 Mar 2005 12:24am
wordsaredumb User Info... | high on fire, clutch, neurosis....I'm too stoned to think of anything else. - Tue, 29 Mar 2005 1:22am
Mordock.the.Benzite User Info... | Burning Witch IS better than Khanate goddamnit...but just barely...both are incredible. Bolt Thrower="true doom"=me rolling my eyes ....Bolt Thrower is slow death metal....NOT doom metal...there is a difference...just because you play slow DOES NOT fucking make you doom/sludge....yeesh. - Tue, 29 Mar 2005 8:28am
Mordock.the.Benzite User Info... | Knifeghost....clean as in style of delivery...no arguement here over the ammount of effects on his voice. - Tue, 29 Mar 2005 8:34am
