It would be churlish to criticize, but with names like Garth and Doug it's hard not to.If there's still an audience for a poor man's jethro tull then this fits the bill cliche's an'all.

If you think I've been harsh, remember you asked for it.("Recently returned from the studio") Wow!! you're so cool! - Sun, 20 Mar 2005 9:41pm

hahaha the best part of this band, is doug simpson's profile picture, not the one that shows on the site, but if you click that then this shirtless one where he's tempting us by nearly grabbing his junk... awesome! the tunes are pretty cool though, kinda a 70's rock crooner style - Mon, 21 Mar 2005 8:52am

they sure advertise themselves a lot. and charge 20$ for a cd release party where you get "a free single" whoohoo. Also The Trees is a pretty lame name. - Mon, 21 Mar 2005 9:03am

I see ex Guerilla Monsoon singer Nathan in the lineup.. He has decent vocs.
Cant tell if this is him on this recording or not ( he only recently left GM, ironically just prior to their cd release.)

dont see $20 admission anywhere, but if it is, that is just a little bit steep for a local band hey... - Mon, 21 Mar 2005 9:53am

I think you're barking up the wrong tree. With titles like "where angels run" and "last love of my life" you might want to advertise on a site where the predominant audience are middle aged women. Here you're more likely to be called a fag then sell a CD. - Mon, 21 Mar 2005 10:17am

ML7, yup Nathan just joined the trees AKA "The Doug Simpson" band. But doesn't play on the CD as Nathan and I (well I just quite playing guitar for them) are just hired guns.

They are a pretty cool group of dudes.

Joe is a crazy (both playing and in life) motherfucker. We competed against them in Battle of the Bands at Sopranoes (i know i know but shut up anyways). Anyways, joe does this tune where he is playing keyboards and playing bass at the same time. Thats pretty cool.

Garth is a huge fucking kickboxer dude who I am sure can kill anybody in like 2 secs. He likes the metal genre and is like a Metronome on drums.

Doug is just a little dude who can really sing. Did a lot when he was younger but has a lot of trouble playing guitar and singing (which is why Nathan and I were brought in). He plays an acoustic and capo all the time which is a bitch when you have to transcribe his chords on the fly.

I dig the music for wanking over and its pretty bar dancing friendly. But your right definately Live Victoria is not the right place for advertisements.

Thats my 10 mins of writing. Anyways, good luck "The trees" and Nathan I'll call you l8r man. Cheers Lucius - Mon, 21 Mar 2005 4:11pm

The Late Great John Lennon never uttered the prose "I've got blisters on my fingers" That would be the still alive Ringo Starr. (with such elementary mistakes such as these, how can I possibly take you seriously) - Mon, 21 Mar 2005 9:05pm

With my wife, kid, dog, and house I can hardly find time to browse Live victoria for more than a few hours a day! Stay cool but don't freeze. Lucius - Tue, 22 Mar 2005 7:48am

sexy sadie isn't the maharishi is it?
i think it's the girl he wanted a piece
of, the movie star or whatever, and john
lennon was pissed, he made some comment
to him before he left, i think it was
the girl who had the sister that john lennon
wrote dear prudence about, anyways,
i think - Tue, 22 Mar 2005 3:43pm

The girl is Prudence Farrow, sister of actress Mia Farrow. Story goes, she would not leave her hut or room or what ever they were staying in, hence, 'Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play'. But not being in India at the time, I can only speculate in conjunction with what I've read and seen.... - Wed, 23 Mar 2005 6:54am
