Dire Strait User Info... | OK Let's her about your first guitar!! and First teacher Mine was a semi acoustic eko Teacher Fraser Kerley/ Sherm Sheldon Cheers - Fri, 7 Jan 2005 10:20pm
cooper User Info... | First guitar was a 2-string nylon acoustic that I played for 6 months before realizing that 6 strings might be better than 2. Oh well, I learned all of Green Day Dookie on those 2 strings! First electric was a Tempo that I bought from the classifieds. L&M appraised it at a stellar $75, but I'm looking for a 2nd opinion... Self-taught - Sat, 8 Jan 2005 1:39am
jaronevil User Info... | My first was a used cherry-red "FENDER Squire Bullet" that I got for $180. I never had a teacher on guitar, I was self-taught. But I did go to Jazz College, so do those teachers count? - Sat, 8 Jan 2005 2:22am
Ian User Info... | First guitar was a 1987 Japanese Strat, still got it kicking around...Mr. Dire Strait himself is my guitar teacher, which explains my affinity for playing Mark Knopfler tunes haha... - Sat, 8 Jan 2005 11:29am
H User Info... | I learned how to play both bass and guitar on my brothers sunburst squire bullet (not strat style - two switchable humbuckers). I then got an Epiphone Accu-bass Jr (p clone) and used an old stereo with some jbl studio monitors as a bass amp. My first guitar was a Yamaki Acoustic i got many years later, and my first electric was a MIM Fender Telecaster. - Sat, 8 Jan 2005 11:39am
Mi*coll* User Info... | i learned to play on my pa's '67 tele. quite a nice instrument, really. in retrospect i was very spoiled. my first amp was a JCM 800 that i got for my birthday when i was like 14. still use that fucker. - Sat, 8 Jan 2005 2:15pm
[+} User Info... | 58 guild freshman, one pickup! i still have that guitar. i used to play it through a DS-1 and a 100w twin. all the mids out. boy, times have changed. i got it for.. 200 dollars? - Sat, 8 Jan 2005 10:59pm
lonemonk User Info... | First purchased guitar was a black mid-90s-something SG. Sounds neat, but is a bitch to play (top heavy) and a sucker for stable tuning. I still own it, but I've loaned it away for a time. Bought a US Strat-plus with locking tuners and I will probably not own another guitar unless someone wants to give me a Musicman or a PRS. I love guitars but now that i've found a comfy and stable machine, no further need exists for me in that department. - Sun, 9 Jan 2005 12:31am
Dave Slaughter User Info... | mine was a blue fender squier, i still play it, even though it is slowly falling into disrepair (read: held together with tape) - Sun, 9 Jan 2005 5:57pm
