Again, like the Cannibal Blast, but you're doing a ONE HANDED ROLL on the snare count! Utterly insane! So that's a 16th note snare and kick pattern over the top of each other! e.g. hats- x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x- snare xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx bass1 x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x- bass2 -x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x- RECOMMENDED TEMPO: 180-240bpm (good luck getting it fast as Longstreth!). | Starry_Wisdom User Info... | The statment of that article is erroneus, regardless however what you said Lew, well thats not necessarily true. The gravity blast has been around for a long time, and Flo has been doing them for a long time (I am fairly sure he used it on Blasphemy Made Flesh circa 1994). He probably isn't the first however, as I think the basis for that technique is jazz(??)... But Kataklysm JUST started using it(the new super basement drummer) so no-one said numerous people were using it before him. If you want me to actually find this myself, bet me 100 bux flo did it first then Ill get you a band name but until then, Ill leave it up to someone who stumbles across a name and decides to post it, I know one of the world's fastest drummers *forget the year* was doing something faster or the equivilent, to name one, but again don't care unless its for a 100 dollar bill :D *Also the previous drummer for kataklysm could grav blast as well if im not mistaken, and spencer diddn't say they did it before flo himself, was just pointing out an example of it there...* Someone should post the question on BWBK, I bet someone will throw a few names pretty fast... | Starry_Wisdom User Info... | What you said was NOT entirely true.. and if it was true you need EVIDENCE and FACTS to back it up, all you've got is smug hearsay. You don't know that that is true and you obviously didn't LISTEN to what I said. I said that that article was wrong hense the word ERRONEOUS (as in error, false etc..)which if you are so smart then I wouldn't need to spell it out for you. Secondly, I know Spencer was right, I wasn't disagreeing with him, I am disagreeing with your manipulation of what he said, no one ever said NUMEROUS people were doing it before him. And if you are talking about the Vile/Panzerchrist drummer (he held the record for double bass for a while), he is good but I haven't ever EVER heard him gravity blast (although I am sure he could). And as for Kataklysm.. I didn't hear gravity blast on Sorcery/Temple Of Knowledge/Mystical Gate of Reincarnation etc.. he didn't do it live when I saw them at fernwood 3 years ago, so maybe YOU should do some homework if you want to step up to the plate. As I said, Longstreth has been doing it for a long time, and JAZZ DRUMMERS CAN AND PROBABLY HAVE FOR MUCH LONGER. Also finding something on the "internet" doesn't make it true, thats what academic sources are for, if you want to give me something thats actually true, I would like to see some sort of "real" evidence and something credible, not all this "yes its true because I think it is" nonsense or some site that states its true without giving any credible reasons why. - Sat, 11 Sep 2004 1:36pm | ||

I know all this because i read a deathmetal drumming board everyday. Many drummers have been doing the GB for a long time.
